Here's the latest firmware update (1.03) for Treo 650 on Verizon:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...r/verizon.html

Here's how to check whether you've got it already:

I use Chatter, and it works great. Pretty stable at this point.

Any big benefit in going to this version from 1.01 if you aren't doing wireless sync or using e-mail? Doesn't seem to be from what I can tell, but maybe I'm missing something.

I haven't noticed any obvious changes. They mention something about fixing how the phone connects to other carriers' networks, but I don't know what that means and whether that's important...

My dad just got a new Verizon treo with firmware 1.03. He said the volume is very loud and he keeps the call volume at about 1-2 bars. This is right out of the box. Wonder whether the firmware improved the volume.

I highly recommend the "Efficient Sync" option of the newest Beta of Chatter.

Greatly helps cut down on unnecessary data connections - which helps battery life and reduces missed costs.

My 650's volume was always very loud. Got mine in May.

I think Verizon's 650 had the memory fix from the start.

The thing about not being able to receive calls while connected to the data network seems to me like a fundamental design flaw in the technology...

The weird thing, at least on Earthlink network, is you can receive voicemail messages when on the web. So someone calls and they go to voicemail and then you get a message. Perhaps it takes too long to route the calling message to you for you to react so they don't bother....or perhaps voice messages are tied into the web and come from a webbased application...like a forwarding app.
