i have a question... I pay $5 per month for no roaming charges but wtf is up with that it is either i dont get reception or i do. When do you roam and is this $5/month no roaming package even worth it?

Sprint is improving the situation since right now our Treos would rather hold on to a weak Sprint signal than a strong roaming signal. As far as I've seen all newer phones are coming with a "roaming only" which would allow you to manually choose a roaming network as opposed to waiting for the call to drop on the Sprint network and then the phone catching a roam network. For sure Sprint's 3 newest phones have this feature: Sanyo 8300, Samsung A880, and Samsung A800. The LG phones have this too but it doesn't work as good because on "roaming only" they will prefer analog networks. At this rate Sprint will probably include a "roaming only" feature on the next Treo. I myself am in an area where I've experienced that Sprint will get consistently better reception than Verizon phones so that really isn't an issue for me.
