    Hi -

I did the update this afternoon with no problems. HOWEVER, there were two things that struck me as a little weird...

    1. I had left my SD card in the phone, and got an error message right as I began. I cancelled out of the update program, popped out the card, and began the update again. The was no problem, and everything simply started fresh.

    2. After the first hotsynch operation, my phone reset three times. I was concerned I was going to get stuck in a loop - but after a few resets everything stabilized and the update continued. I didn't recall this happening with 1.08 so I was a little worried; however, everything went fine from there.

There is still a slight lag when placing outgoing calls. I won't really use the Bluetooth DUN, so the call lag was my real incentive to update. It's improved, no doubt - but not perfect IMO. Of course, since I've been using my 650 almost exclusively (I just bought an MPX300 which has been a *little* distracting) I'm used to a long delay - so I'm not sure what a normal connection time is anymore! No real memory gains or losses since 1.08 to report...

    Cheers!

Anyone using Chatter with the update?
Is Chatter behaving with the 1.12?

I can't update if Chatter becomes unstable.

I can sync with my new "ROM Update", but not my original profile.

I have a 1/2 full battery. How important to have full battery to begin this process?

I did have to reflash back to a basic 1.08 ROM from a Custom ROM before I could get the update to complete.

Without reflashing, I got a constant reset following the hot-sync to move the 1.12 files to the Treo.

Once I reflashed to a basic 1.08 problem was solved - must have been something in my Custom ROM that wasn't playing nicely...

Nuts. A hands-free auto device and Chatter are my must-have apps. I guess I'll have to sit this one out too.

Unless you lose power during the process, it shouldn't be an issue AFAIKAFAIKAFAIK

According to the (new) manual, it doesn't support stereo bluetooth headsets (i'm guessing the type you're talking about).

Wow, I have to give a thumbs up to Palm and Sprint. They answered practically every concern or complaint that their customer base had.

    Once again, Thumbs Up!

After the update...I seem to have LOST about 1.6 MB (from 11.4 to 9.8). I'm looking for what files were restored (that maybe should not have been)

Is the BT headset quality better now? There were still issues even after the 1.08 update.

I found the problem....I had to RE-MOVE my DTG app to my SD Card. Looks like I have a net increase of about 1MB. Sweet.

update worked great but it killed the newest versions of notepad and voicememo that I had installed.

alright.... very cool... i hate that delay.. evilghost... good method! everything went quite flawlessly... now to go through all my applications and make sure it all works!
hopefully backup man will work now as well!

however here's the deal and its no lie!... after this update.. i freed up 8 megs of space on my device.

the dialing speed of the phone is MUCH faster.

Versamail which NEVEr worked with my IMAP server now works perfectly so i was able to trash my old version of snappermail 1.0 which freed up another 2 megs.

I dont have a laptop so DUN is not a big deal to me though its fun to have.

The way Palm was going i feel like i now have a Treo 700!!!

I've had no problems with Chatter so far after the update. Also gained about 1.5MB. BackupMan 1.52b5 seems to work well for backup and restores as well.

Performing the update right now on a clean "temp" profile with nothing installed. Hopefully, everything will be hunky-dory!
