Any one figure out if they fixed the call waiting issue - where you couldn't hang up on one call but had to, instead, hang up on them both?

Palm has always said that's a limitation of the Sprint Network.

If you followed EvilGhost's instructions, nothing you installed is till on the phone when you load the ROM (a hard reset does that, you know.) Did you install a custom ROM previously, by any chance?

I bought a 650 from the Cingular Store and unlocked it myself.

I assumed the "Unlocked GSM" firmware update was for me!

    http://www.palmone.com/us/support/do...pecial_dl.html

But once I got to the second half of step 10 (after the HotSync using the new username) my Treo asked me to plug in the charger and press "ok". After I did, I got the error message "UPDATER DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS DEVICE"

I checked "Phone Info" and now there is nothing in the "Number" "IMEI Number" "SA Number" or "Firmware" fields.

Please someone help me! I hope I didn't permanently shmagoog my phone!

Did anyone see that the Treo now has the time?

Nevermind, I don't see the time either, my eyes are distracted. Remember what Grandma always said, "stop that or you'll go blind!".

I have the latter. I am already at FW v1.23 in my custom ROM.
    So, the question remains:
If I am at a later version of firmware on my unlocked GSM, is there
a good reason to build a new custom ROM based on the official v1.13 ?

Anyone see this goofy deal? How did you get out of it?
Same here... I had 11.5 MB free and got stuck in continuous loops. I just did a hard reset and followed the directions given by Evilghost. All is fine now.

The new firmware works great although my free memory is less from 10.7mb down to 9.5 or something. Must have to do with what I had in my custom ROM before---hint hint. Seems as easy as the 1.08 was to decypher and customize it took 2 or 3 days as I recall it doesnt look like the 1.12 is much different in the way its packaged, guess I will just have to be patient.

Interesting that some do, and some don't.

Can we have some reports. For eveyone who's done the upgrade:

    Do you have the option?
Did you have a custom ROM before the upgrade?
Did you follow the standard or alternate (hard reset) procedure to upgrade?
Anything else "non-standard" about your phone?

Maybe we can figure out why some people get it and some don't?

You really don't get it do you? The title of this thread is "New SPRINT Firmware..."

    There is a Sprint v1.12

There is an unlocked GSM v1.28 (which is newer than your v1.23)
(v1.13 that you are looking @ is the software version, not the firmware)

Maybe if you weren't looking in the SPRINT thread and instead looked in the GSM thread, you might understand more. Go there now:

Is it only the registration number you have to re-enter? Is it not asking for an activation number also? If the activation & registration number are not correct (and no, they are not the same thing) you wont be able to register it.

If you've hotsync, I'd suggest doing another one, using the HSID of the name D2G was registered under. It should restore the registration number for you.
I didn't actually purchase it, as it came free with the Treo right? Now when I go to update it it says I am not registered and it looks like the only way to register and get the update is to pay??
Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!

For those having the continuous loop problem, here's how I've gotten out of it previously. While the phone is constantly looping, and when the screen is on, perform a manual reset by pushing the reset button in the back with the stylus. Perform a "soft" reset by holding the up arrow on the 5-way. This has allowed me to get back into the device. Then I entered ##377 dial from the phone app to see which application was causing the reset, and fixed the problem from there by getting rid of the offending app. Worked for me, but please note, I was having a continuous reset for reasons other than updating the new Sprint firmware... hope this might help some of you.

The handheld overwriting the desktop? I meant the SD card backup restoring the handheld. I hotsynched but I thought that some things (some preferences, etc.) don't always get re-synched back if you hotsynch. And, I have had trouble hotsynching my calendar to the desktop so I would lose all my calendar entries if I don't do some type of restore from my SD card.
