I just found out that if you are active/reserve in Us military you are automatically eligible for a 15% off your monthly bill. Great.

I think that Sprint currently has best deals and support for treo 650, not to say that they DO offer insurance and other carriers don't. Just my two cents

Good Sprint is looking out for the troops.

Bad move for US (us) troops to go with Sprint. GSM phones are better overseas. Sprint should tell the troops the full deal.

    ATT/Cing GSM offers 15% too.

I think this applies to all Federal employees. I called Sprint to inquire about a government discount when I ported over from VZW. They gave me 15% off after verifying my employment information.

can you still get the discount if the phone is in my mother's name n' my dad is in the navy reserve?

Yes, you can; through USAA. It's called an "Affinity Discount". It's really weird because I never signed up for it and the discount just appeared on my bill, and my parents both have Nextell (speaking of which, I hope the recent merger will include push to talk for Sprint customers, so I can talk to the folks without spending my minutes). Because my Dad was an officer in the army (served in Vietnam) he (and his immediate family;me included) are entitled to USAA Federal Bank and it's services, and since I have a Credit Card through USAA, I guess Sprint must cross reference accounts to USAA to see who qualifies for the discounts... Hey, I'm not complaining

Only if you have USAA Insurance only.

There are no Military "only" Discounts.

Are you getting a 15% USAA discount? I thought it was just 5%.

Sprint has many discounts, for example if you work at sears you can get 10% off. They won't always check your employment either, only randomly (I used to work for Sprint). Best of all if you quit! The discount stays.

Also if you are activated Sprint will cancel your contract with no fee or you can pay a small fee and keep the phone active.

But if you are overseas and having problems with CDMA call *2 and ask for the retention line and tell them you are having problems overseas, they will give a $10 credit nearly every time.

Yes it is a 5% discount and no it is not USAA Insurance only.

Hey justa thought, let's get a list of all the discounts that Sprint offers. Do they apply more than one if you qualify? I may have to go apply for a job at sears and than quit after two weeks....heh heh

I just found out about this earlier this week. I walked into Sprint and was going to get my Treo reguardless, but they asked if I was in the military, I told them that I was in the Navy, and they took 15% off the bill right on the spot.

Alright, I just got off with my Sprint Contact! He said that sprint doesn't give out a Discount list to avoid problems, but he said there is Trick to find out.

Call Sprint and ask for the Business Department, you will need a Supervisors name and the address of your local sprint store. Tell them you work there. Then ask for the discount of the place you work, they will tell you yes or no and how much.

Here is 2 that he did tell me though: UPS and Home Depot get 25% WOW!

I will keep checking for a list thought!

What if you volunteer at the Red Cross teaching CPR/First Aid? I wonder if I can get that 23% off discount.

Call Sprint PCS and just tell them you work at the Red Cross, they don't need to know you are volunteer, because you still work there.
