    Has anyone terminated their contract early with Verizon? I know that there's a $175 early termination fee, but I was wondering if it hurts your credit.

    I'm trying a Treo from Sprint and it is so much faster than my Samsung i700 Pocket PC phone on Verizon. Sprint also has much better pricing on their plans that Verizon.

    No it does not so long as you pay the early termination fee.

    I did this awhile ago on three lines and no problem.
    Palm Pilot -> Palm 505 -> Palm Vii-> Ipaq 3670 -> Nokia 6800 ->Treo 600 -> Treo 650 Unlocked GSM

    Does it matter if you decide to return to them in the future?

    It's not a credit issue. They look at it as a reimbursement for the benefits they gave you for entering the contract. You are buying your way out of the contract, not defaulting on it.

    Added: I can't imagine why they would refuse you service in the future. You paid your bills and the penalty. They still made money on you.
