For some reason, that sprint connection info is always there... Even once you flash the firmware... Just make another connection as instructed in the origonal tutorial...

Saw the hack for changing from Sprint to Verizon on these posts, but it is a little beyond me (I'm guaranteed to end up with a dead hunk of metal and plastic). Any one know where I can get it done locally in the Dallas Texas area without sending it off somewhere else?

I cannot send or receive MMS; I've read that with vzw's new firmware (which I have installed), MMS will work, but it's not working for me. Can someone assist me on how I can get MMS to work?

    Thanks.

    UPDATE
I advised Verison CS of my plight. They offered to replace my phone, but opted to go the patch/update route first. I got a patch/update from Verizon that enabled my MMS. I told them my T600 had a Sprint faceplate because my Verizon faceplate cracked. I got a new faceplate from them, too.

I just can't seem to find this file. Anyone have any idea where it can be downloaded, or maybe you have it and can email it to me.

The first post in this thread with the detailed instructions has a link to the file... Just click the link next to the Kyocera 3.1 and then on the page that it links you to, it is the 1st link but isnt called exactly "kyocera 3.1". It is called "KWPST".

I've got a Sprint Treo 600 that I'm trying to "Verizonize". I used TokenWriter to put in the VZW 1.20 firmware. No go on VZW, they ask for ESN & say it's "not on the list" or something. I try the BitPim but ##3424 just calls VZW, no PassThru, can't get this going...

    Pls help :-(

    [QUOTE=anub] VZW 1.20 firmware

Oops, it was the VZW 1.11, not 1.20, confused from SPR 1.20.

BTW I was trying to follow these instructions but ran into the problem of not getting passthru enabled so went on with these instructions and now stuck.

FWIW, trying to contribute in my very limited, totaly clueless way: seems using the TokenWriter tip is no prob to change crnm from SPR to VZW and apply VZW 1.11 firmware but so far unable to revert back to SPR 1.20. Maybe this is the problem: I'm out of step, these instructions s/b done 1st and won't work after doing these ????

Any assistance would be great, TIA, d

Ok, I've done this with a Sprint treo, and it works great. Now for an encore I am trying to convert Bell Mobile (also CDMA) treo to verizon. Anyone know if this should work for BMO firmware to VZW conversion???

I tried, and in original instructions, KWPST returns "This phone model is not supported" when I connect to it. So while I know MSL(BitPim works), I cannot change it :-/

Then I tried to just install VZW firmware directly using chrisjhahn's instructions, however I run into trouble here too. I change the phone to VZW-1.10 and then install 1.11 - however on restart firmware states that the version on it is later than one I am trying to install and it is not happending. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

UPDATE: Nevermind on the first question . I found that Qualcomm PST worked and I was able to set MSL to 000000. However I am still trying to figure out how to install VZW Firmware. Everytime I try I get same message that the firmware on ROM is newer than the version I am installing. Any way to trick it into installing anyway? Setting version in TokenWriter does not seem to work. I know I do not technically NEED VZW firmware, but I would much rather have it as close to VZW Treo as possible. Thanks.

Try setting crnm to 1.00, think that's what I used, IF you decide to proceed, see FYI's below.

    And FYI: AFAIKAFAIKAFAIK $there$ $is$ $no$ $going$ $back$. $I$ $tried$ '$cause$ $of$ $trouble$ $with$ $BitPim$. $Finally$ $discovered$ $that$ $codes$ $for$ $VZW$ $start$ $with$ #*#, $not$ ## $like$ $Sprint$.

But I'm still stumped by a couple things:
    1. Can you point me to the BitPim instructions (link in original post NG)?
    2. KWPST does not recognize the phone (originally a Sprint T600). Where can I find Qualcomm PST?

    TIA & HTH, d

I assume you mean set revn to 1.00 and crnm to VZW - I tried that and it did not work. It seems like it is checking something other than revn token. The phone works now on Verizon, but I still want full on VZW firmware - I guess I'll have to wait till Palm releases another VZW update, if ever :-(

    1. For me it worked exactly as described in the first post in this thread, just remmember to enter passthrough mode (#*#3424 on VZW, ##3424 on others) Also remember you need the serial cable, NOT USB!!!!!

    2. I found it by a google search for QPST2_7.zip - BTW, for PST you also need a serial cable - could this be your problem?

    Yes, I meant revn.

    Have you tried hard reset?

Yes, got serial cable and BitPim works, I just need the instructions for changing MSL (may not need: the only 6 digit # in the hex dump is 000000 so maybe the VZW 1.11 firmware already took care of that?). Maybe once that is done KWPST will work?

Still haven't found QPST, any links?

    Thanks, d

ok, so went to vzw store, they thought no big deal, ready to do it but got errors on screen, called sales, t'd to tech support & handed me the phone. after long wait got very helpful guy who could have done the deal if i'd had *msl* (that's *sprint speak* for *vz speak* *psc* - m srv lck vs. prov. srv code ?). so still need to no how to get that from BitPim or local pcs store guy...
    chroniclles of anub to continue...

Here is my experience with it - nvm_0002 had two 6 digit numbers, one is MSL the other is the temporary code of some sort. They may be in one of the other nvm's. Both numbers can be tested via ##123456 (where 123456 is the 6 digit code, and it may be that you need to do #*# instead of ## on VZW firmware) If you dial the right thing, it will go into special menu (it should not actually dial the phone number, if so use the other prefix) If you get prefix right and code wrong, nothing happends. If you get the temporary code, you will get a screen to enter phone number - if you get MSL it will display some more info(dont recall what it is off hand). Once you know the MSL, you can open it with PST (KWPST worked for Sprint one, QPST worked for Bell Mobility, not sure what will work for VZW firmware. And you should be able to change MSL to 000000 via PST. You need MSL to change it. Dont forget to change PRL there as well. Once you set it, if you dial *228 you should hear Verizon message. Choosing option 1 for me failed. I then called Verizon. I told them I wanted to activate a new phone and had trouble doing it online. They had me do *228 a few times untill the phone showed up on their system and then they were able to activate it and *228 option 1 worked.

    HTH

Meanwhile, I am still not able to get Verizon software loaded over Bell Mobility's. :-/

I need help, I am trying to figure out my MSL. I am using BITPIM and have a serial cable:
    1) Launching BitPim
    2) enabline passthrough
    3) click on filesystem-->nvm -->nvm-->right click on nvm_0002 and select hexdump.

I am looking at the right column, I see that it says Sprint, then the only 6 digit number that I see is all zeros. Then a couple lines below that I see this number: 735356.200.
I have tried all of the nvm_#s and do not find a 6 digit number.

I have tried both of these numbers in Kyocera PST and the program tells me that it is not the correct number.

Can anyone help me with this?????

Have you tried the obvious 735356 ? Tried dialing ##735356? ##000000?

When I do ##735356 on my phone I get an activation screen asking for Phone Number (MDN): and next line MSID:

If that means that is my MSL, I am wondering why Kyocera program PST doesn't recognize it as the correct number?

There is a second 6 digit number that is called something like "field service code" or something like it. I think this may be it. I am not sure, but I am guessing it is used to program the phone without giving out MSL, but it has limited use. Does anything happend when you punch in ##000000? When you punch in ##MSL you get a menu as well. Is there any other 6 digit number in nvm? In my case both 6 digit numbers were close together in location. Is there a conclusion to 200???
  19. #379
When I tried #000000 nothing at all happens. As far as any other 6 digit numbers there aren't any others. The other number I told you about is 735356.200 and there is nothing else attached to the 200. I also did a hexdump on all the other nvms but was not able to find a 6 digit number. When I do a hex dump, I basically see to columns: the column to the left consists of the hex number then a series of two digit numbers, then on the right is where I see sprint listed, the 6 digit zeros as well as the 735356.200 number as well as other stuff. Am I right in my thinking that I should be looking at the right hand column?
