I just purchased a Treo 600 using Sprint.

So far so good, but I cannot figure out how to add pauses etc. to contact phone numbers. I need this to access my work voice mail, send pages, etc. I tried inserting the letter "p" in contact phone numbers, but it was ignored.

This is a pretty basic phone feature and I can't believe the Treo/Sprint does not support it.

    Thanks.

Works for me. I used this feature to access bank account information.

    Ex.

    cell phone dials #... (##########, ,)

    then menu promts( 1 ,, 1 ,, 1 ,, )

    then account no. (#########, ,)

    then password (####)

    account info is now heard.

This cuts about 10 second time verses me doing it manually.

Are you putting those commas into the Outlook address book and then synching it with your contact list? Or, are you using the "extra digits" feature within the Treo Favorites application?

I have this "sort of" working, but it is not predictable at all.

I tried adding coma in the contacts entry, but when I went to favorites, or even "dial" from contacts, the pause wasn't there. I didn't think of using Outlook and adding it there. Is this what you have done?

Placing all my commas directly into contact info on the 600.

I had the same issue. Commas do work! Just make sure that your Phone Preferences are set properly. (Menu - Options - Phone Preferences) Remove the check mark where it says... "Enable Short DTMF Tones"

Is there a way to lock and hide the auto dial number? Seems a bit dangerous to keep your account number and password stored in your phone.

On my old regular phone you could lock the autodial number -- so it couldn't be viewed and can only be changed if deleted.

Well I finally got it. I added the pauses with a , but it didnt work. I ended up going to my favorites, and programmed additional digits in the favorites sub menu. Finally got it to work.
