Here's what I got, the area I bolded might be a glimmer of hope, or nothing at all.

    Dear Mark Wilson,

Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding your inquiry about the Palm
    Pre 2 phone.

I understand you want to upgrade your phone to Palm Pre 2. Since this
device is not available to our customers, I am unable provide the
details you requested. We hope we will be coming out with this phone
    very soon.
If Sprint offers it in the future, , you will find product
and pricing details on Sprint.com and in promotional information at our
retail stores. We encourage you to watch news reports or monitor our web
site to see if a change in availability occurs.

We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to address your
concerns. Please reply to this email or visit Sprint.com/mysprint if we
    can be of further assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Zang M.

    I emailed Sprint yesterday:
Question: I have been a sprint user since Palm introduced the Palm Pre.
It has come to my attention that HP/Palm has introduced the Pre 2, and
currently only Verzion will carry it at the launch. Palm's Facebook page
suggests that this was a decision made by Sprint.
    So the question is:
Will Sprint offer the new Pre 2 - or do I have to leave Sprint and go
to another carrier to get the latest hardware?

    Their responce:
Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding Palm pre2.

Thank you for your interest in the Palm Pre2. Since this device is not
available to our customers, I am unable provide the details you
requested. If Sprint offers it in the future, you will find product and
pricing details on Sprint.com and in promotional information at our
retail stores. We encourage you to watch news reports or monitor our web
site to see if a change in availability occurs.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint.

    Sincerely,
    Simon S.
    Sprint

So I Followed that up with:
The only detail I requested was "Will Sprint offer the new Pre 2 - or do
I have to leave Sprint and go to another carrier to get the latest hardware?"
Seems like a fairly strightforward question. How about a strightforward
    answer?

    Their Responce:
Thank you for your reply. I understand your concern regarding the Pre 2
    device.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to the handset
    unavailability.

Currently, the palm Palm® Pre™ and Palm® Pixi handsets are available for
our customer. We have already forwarded this concern to appropriate
department so that necessary action can be taken. please wait till
resolution will come, so that we can provide you appropriate
    information.

If Sprint offers it in the future, you will find product and pricing
details on Sprint.com and in promotional information at our retail
stores. We encourage you to watch news reports or monitor our web site
to see if a change in availability occurs.

You may like to view & choose from the wide variety of phones we offer,
    on our website

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. Please write to us. We appreciate
    your association with us.

Notice 1) they still haven't answered my question, 2) they haven't ruled out the Pre 2.

All I know for sure is if Pre2 hardware does not come down the pipe from Sprint soon a Franken-Sprint Pre Plus might just be in my future... I have little doubt that once the duce drops on the big V there will be a wave of cheap Pre Pluses following shortly after on Craigslist and eBay. It may not be a Pre2 but a Overclocked Plus with 2.0 would be the next best thing, not to mention then I can save my upgrade for when(if) HpPalm drops a newer more awesome device. Which by the way I would be shocked if something along those lines is not anounced during CES in Jan.

    Good morning recuejt,

This is Gabriela from the Sprint Premier Team. Thank you for utilizing the Sprint Premier forum to share your thoughts and concerns! We do acknowledge all our customers concerns and strive for customer satisfaction. You are correct, at this moment we will not be getting the Palm Pre 2 and we do not have any other devices with WebOS 2.0. I will forward this post to the appropriate department at your request. I understand why you want to continue with the same type of device instead of going with the Epic or Evo. If you decide to try one of these devcies, you can rely on our 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I do apologize that I was not able to assist you but we will take your comment into consideration. Once again, thank you for choosing Sprint. Sincerely , Gabriela

My 2nd response from Sprint after getting the stupid canned response (only to be followed by another haha):

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand your concern regarding the
    Palm Pre 2.

I understand that Verizon offers Palm Pre 2. We are also keep working to
update new devices according to the customers wants. If Sprint offers it
in the future, you will find product and pricing details on Sprint.com
and in promotional information at our retail stores. We encourage you to
watch news reports or monitor our web site to see if a change in
    availability occurs.

We appreciate your interest in Sprint products and your inquiry would
certainly help in improving our product and pricing range. We would not
like you to be dissatisfied with our products and move to some other
    service provider.

We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to answer your
questions. Please reply to this email or visit sprint.com if we can be
    of assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Owen A.

Well, it's obvious that it's Sprint screwing over Palm owners, and not Palm...

I've been telling everyone Sprint will not be getting the pre2 anytime soon if at all unless a miracle happens . Lol I spoke to a friend who is a division manager (not sure if that's the correct term sprint uses) but he oversees several sprint stores and he said sprint won't pick it up . On the other hand they may get the new device when it comes out !! Just not the updated pre .

Sprint could eaisly order a very small number of the devices, so not to worry about overstock, and if they sell order another small order. They have nothing to loose, and alot to gain for the holiday season IMO.
If they do have a 4g webOS phone waiting in the wings, then they would indeed lose a lot by releasing the Pre 2 beforehand. My wife and I would likely both get a Pre 2 if it came out, but if instead a superphone comes first, we'll get that instead. Sprint is looking for the extra $10 a month per user for 4g data pricing, and has calculated they will gain more from that than they will lose by not launching another 3g Pre.

They will very likely launch 4g Super Pre, then follow that up with the Pre 2 for the people who won't pay for 4g. That's the same model they have followed regarding Android phones -- Evo first, then lower grade 3g later.

Obvious is an understatement... I'm wondering if Sprint people are ticked enough to switch to Big Red just to get the Pre2 or the C40 or whatever comes next for them.... I just hope in the interim between Pre2 and ????? that WebOS 2.0 will be sent out to all of us at 1.4.5 If that is possible ( I am NOT a tech guru) but I am waiting for the ???? as my Pre plus has never given me any issues - knock on wood

I second that... After I read the first leaked specs, my first question was "where is the 4G radio?" I'm not in a 4G area, but no Palm Pre 2 w/o 4G is worth the switch. OK, that's a lie, Its still worth it but its not as future proof. The Pre 2 catches up to all other devices and with 4G is passes most. I sent Sprint an e-mail too and got a similar response. I not worried, I believe HP/Palm will release a "Palm Pre 4G" for sprint. I have some faith.

At least you got a responsive answer. When Sprint answered me, they not only didn't seem to understand what I was talking about, but simply suggested I should browse their web page to see the variety of phones they had to offer. Total waste of time & talked down to me like I was a newbie vs someone who has been a premier customer for years.

I got more or less the same response.

I don't think Sprint realizes how quickly they are going to lose a bunch of customers of this decision.

Even if no good webOS phone comes out on Sprint and I have to switch to an Android device, I would rather pick one from Verizon. Their selection of Android is so much better. Not to mention that they will have WP7 and the iPhone. What exactly does Sprint offer me now hardware wise that Verizon has/will not beat.

CES will be the deciding factor for me. If no new Palm device for Sprint then I will be switching to Verizon and taking my 3 other lines with me.
