I'd rather have the Pre2 (4G or not) sometime in the late fall. Pre2 which will hopefully contain robust hardware.

anyhoo.... you won't see a 4G item from Sprint (imho)
You defiantly will see a 4G item from Sprint.

A 4G cellphone though... that's not going to be a while, maybe someday.
4G is for netbooks and laptops.

there is a HTC 4G WiMax phone in the works.

there is no talk of Apple doing anything outside of GSM/LTE.

there will be no WiMax phones released before the end of this year.

It would make sense that Palm would release some kind of 4G phone, but only when the 4G network is up and running in more networks because it would not make sense to release a device untill the demand is high enough to justify it.

I say to that: "If you build it, they will come."

4G should be an option, like WiFi. Those who can take advantage of it may enable that option.

Well, in any case, if it doesn't come this year (it should!), then it MUST in 2011. Basically, long before Apple can get in there.
