The most they can give me is "maybe 30 days". I am at a crossroads with my son being disabled and needing a cell phone to stay in constant communication. Does anyone have any ideas on who it is best to call? I hate to sound desperate, but I can't understand why they won't work with me. I know it is my responsibility to pay my bill in full, which I have always done, and now when I hit a rough spot they turned their back on me. I even thought about perhaps trying to get donations from the forum, but I figured admins wouldn't like that sort of thing. Please offer any advice you can.

I am not sure, but this is a thought...

If they allowed you to charge the devices to your account, then you have good credit with them and not a cap like those who had to place a deposit. I have never let my account lapse, but I dont think they will shut your service off if you dont pay in full. Maybe you can pay over time and the reps are not aware that you can.

And if you still have good credit, then maybe you can get a credit card (you said that you dont have one). But it may not come in time for you to transfer your debt. Another high-interest option is a payday loan. But you'd get behind that ball pretty quick.

Like everyone else said, if you cannot sell your Pre's, then save your money now and buy a prepaid phone for the time being. Pay on your account as best as you can and then once you are up to date, you will have service again on your new Pre's.

I am sorry about everything. I bought the Pre on June 6th, and was told on June 9th that I was loosing my job (end of Sept). Since I had saved up for that purchase, it didnt affect me too much, but I know how your world shifts when this happens. God Speed!

Dude, come on. Seriously? You can't get connected to retentions on your own? Are there no searches anywhere in all of internet land that produce a result? My sympathy for you is wearing thin. I know you're in a tough spot, but you're not exactly being meek about it or trying very hard to help yourself.

    Have you tried buzzaboutwireless.com?

Seems like you've gotten real help off the bat. Sell em (preferrably)or get a CC or bank loan to help out. Not sure what else you expect this thread to do for you.

Sorry if you think i'm scum but you're not acting like what you've painted yourself to be...someone who pays bills on times, has good credit, etc. That kind of person would've returned the Pre's as soon as you heard the bad news which as you said was only a few days after buying them.

This is what you do..call sprint, and ask whoever picks up the phone to transfer you to their manager/supervisor. Even if they try to help you there, insist to be transferred to their supervisor. When you get transferred, explain your situation (in a mellow tone)..remind him how long you have been with them. He is sure to work something out with you...............................If not, then you can plead for a donation to help your cause (THAT'S IF YOU ARE BEING HONEST ABOUT YOUR SITUATION)..i will be more than willing to help.

    Powerbyte,
unfortunately you asked for advice and thats what you got. It might not have been what you were hoping for but you got it nevertheless. Looks like your options would be to sell your phones a pre is not a necesity the welfare of your family is. Go pre-paid i did it for a while and now im back

Done......got a 3 month payoff from retentions, and an Airrave to boot. Sorry if I bothered anyone with my problems, but I just wanted some valid input from people I thought I could trust.

    Cheers,

i have the answer here. How about you just return them, and get some off the market place here. you can get the for like $250 and thats with extras. Im just stating the obvious. Who in thier right mind would ever buy a phone out right from Sprint themselve. You can always get them cheaper everywhere else... I.E- craigslist, Ebay, and on the forums

This thread is a joke. You found out about your wife being laid off but continued to keep expensive phones? You missed several months of payment (an assumption on my part; not sure how you could have racked up such a high bill without doing that. even buying one phone out of contract plus a regular one = $800. Do you really have $300 a month plan?).

This is entirely your fault. If you're spending outside of your means you're going to get in trouble. The minute you found out about your wife's position, you should have returned both phones and picked up a pre-paid phone.

That's great you've been such a great customer but now you owe Sprint a large chunk of change. They're not a charity, why should they give you a payment plan that may pay down your current debt when they could cancel you so there is less risk for them. To them, there is no guarantee you'll pay this down at all and could make it go up to $2,000 which means they lost even more money on you.

The reason you posted was so other could give you money. There is no other reason to post.

Sprint told you that you could have an extra 30 days. You want a payment plan (when you, obviously, missed some payments or bought outside of your means because your bill is incredibly high) which doesn't make sense.

What do you expect us to do? There is nothing we can do aside from giving your money. Your problem is with Sprint.

The lady I talked to said that she had seen where my wife called in a few months ago about signal and asked if we were still having a problem. si told her yes, but that wasn't my true concern. She fixed my bill and signal problem. Thanks Margaret!

you could always ask them to put ur mobile phone on seasonal standby and get cheap pay as you go phones until paid up. You won't have ur pre but you will get caught up on ur bill and have ur pre as well. I had to phone lines open and had to put one on seasonal hold for a long time, year maybe, anyways it costs like 15 or 20 buks a month, and there is a new time limit like six months , check into that , oh and when you call ask to speak with customer retension , my spelling sucks sorry but you get what I'm saying . I'm on my pre right now but send me a private mess. If you need any more info , have a great day!!!!
