    Sprint's going down the crapper...

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aTTIjQ8qgKEU

"lost more than a million customers last quarter, said it may sell some assets after its net loss swelled to $505 million...."

"...Chief Executive Officer Dan Hesse, 54, is firing 4,000 workers, closing outlets and discounting wireless phone plans after the stock lost more than half its value in the past year. Sprint had a $29.2 billion loss in the fourth quarter"

"He also plans to close about 125 of Sprint's company-owned stores"

How much longer will the SERO option be available? Get while the getting is good. Mine is already paid through the end of tyhis year.
I find it sad/odd that people ask to be thanked. How genuine is it when you have to ask? It's like forcing your kid to call Grandma, to thank her for the new underwear she sent for their birthday.

"To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

...what you didn't mention, at least that I saw on engadget, is that the hessinator has mentioned dropping rates as a wy to keep da customerses. maybe make sero-caliber rates available to everyone? it would take quite a bit to keep me from jumping when my contract is up in sept., but i'm not immune to the call of less money...this will be an interesting call to retention, for sure.

You paid ahead? Due to your sig it would be nice to see you get burnt. Bad.

I've had sero 17 months... nice plan, glad I'm able to enjoy the cheap service. I'd not be surprised to have a letter stating it will end in "x" months. sero is one of those things to enjoy while you can... soon someone will realize the wonderful sero people who call 100 times a week asking for additional discounts like corporate, credit union, etc... or email every hour trying to game the system for free phones or additional features....

We should all enjoy sero.... be nice for them to only kill sero for people who have additional discounts... that would be funny... love to hear all the whining if that were to happen.

I'm halfway through my 2-year SERO contract and it has been the best.
When it runs out next year, all I want is the latest Treo and to go another 2 years on SERO.
Sprint can't make you change the terms of your contract after it ends, right? Like a grandfather clause?

Dropping rates in an already overly-competitive market can only hurt their bottom line further. I don't see it as a good thing.

Read your contract. The loopholes all favor Sprint. In virtually all cases, they will let you finish out your contract, and then tell you that plan is no longer available.

Uhh no. You are grandfathered to your plan. They can't force you to change after your contract is up. The only time you will lose your plan is if you change it on your own will. If you never change it you will have the plan almost forever.

Funny enough, things change every so often in contracts and people are not "grandfathered" in.

For example, remember when verizon raised their txt msg rates and people went in a frenzy? LOL... I'll never forget all the whining...

The thing is your contact says you can get out of it... so if sprint sends a letter that states: starting in three months, if you have sero, your cost will rise $20. At that point you can get out your contract without paying a termination fee. That is what our contract says.

I don't know where you get a company would enter into an agreement that allows a customer to keep a plan forever.

Most companies will allow customers to keep their old plans as a courtesy. It is good business.

Having said that, I doubt if sprint would ax us like that... as much as we whine? My god... they would be flooded. Plus, they know many of us only arrived at sprint BECAUSE of the plan. If it were the same as verizon, I'd more than likely go back to verizon. Even though I know verizon is no better than sprint.

I'm dumb and listen to verizon's marketing. Subconsciously I believe the messages from verizon.

Ok, not really, the real reason is almost all of my friends and family belong to verizon. If I switched I'd have to lower my minutes so I'd need to be with the same company to lower my minutes used per month (if it works like it did in 2006). Plus, I don't mind verizon....

Thanks.... I seriously appreciate it... And if you wanted to do something on your own, I have a PO Box you can send a check. Honestly, that will help while I'm in purgatory.

    Hm

Sprint's sero plan is the only thing keeping me with their network.

To be honest if Sprint drops sero, I will most likely switch to a GSM network.

the sim-cards will make up for having to pay a little extra.

Whats sad for sprint is, almost everyone I speak to daily (that uses sero) agrees with me; if sero is dropped they're moving to GSM.

I'm sorry, what the heck is "sero"?

Oh and yes, I agree Sprint's billing dept sucks. Every month i have to call and complain about my billing being wrong.

I would get annoyed if people with SERO lost it and started complaining... MAN! people with SERO are already getting the best rates... I've been with Sprint for many years and have been a good customer. I never get any perks... So if you lose SERO... WELCOME back to the standard level.. hehe

But I'm thinking of going to VZN, coverage is so much better compared to Sprint in my area.
I had to ditch my 700wx for a Blackberry...

You are doing something wrong then... like paying late every now and again....

I've been with sprint since Jan 07 and never had any problems with billing... I auto debit as well.

The common denominator with complaints on billing seem to be be a late payment. Some will happen with the addition or removal of something on the plan. Although, I switched plans up and it was very smooth with sprint....

The four letters that mods all over the net have killed many threads over and gave out many warnings!

There is a good place to talk about sero.... if you want sero, that is the best thread on the net, FAIK.

Not true in my case. I've never been late with a payment, and my bill, and others close to me have been screwed up repeatedly.

I've been double-billed for a month, my plan changed for merely calling and asking a question, charged for "premium services" I did not order.

My experience, ALL cell phone companies suck in their own way. Sprint's is in their customer service department. I stand by my tag.

I really love the SERO plan. ATT is a rip off and charge so much!

The reason why Sprint lost so many customers is because CSR suck!

If I lose SERO, I'll likely be going to Verizon.

I'll go to Verizon because I'll be a sucker who has all the friends on the Verizon network. I have friends on Verizon who won't leave for SERO because they won't be able to text their friends/SO who have Verizon and only have unlimited Verizon texts.

There will go my use of any Treo too, data plans are an extra $20 on any other network. I've been spoiled with SERO's UL data.

Hopefully if Sprint ever got bought out by another provider, they would honor the SERO plan. Doubtful though.

Couple of people I know left because of phone selection... no one ever mentioned csr sucking anything.

When you get a small group saying the same thing, soon it becomes true....

Your posts and sig remind me of this guy I met a couple of weeks ago at the hospital. He complained from the time he got there until the time he went back for his appointment.

Another guy sitting there said that he could see why someone like that would have problems. I was thinking the same thing to myself. Neither one of us ever had a problem there.

Your signature... mixed with the statement "my plan changed for merely calling and asking a question" raises questions in my mind. I'm thinking, "I can imagine the conversation." lol Then I can imagine the csr changing your plan... then I can imagine the look on your face when you get your bill. CSR: 1 You (your attitude?): 0

But of course, I don't know.... maybe sprint cs does suck... but not for me or anyone I know (or knew) on sprint. Do I have problems with understanding them at times? Yea... But then, I have few issues in life... things kinda roll on fairly smoothly.

I know, I'm being presumptuous.... I'm 100% guilty of that... I'm only talking out loud... lol
