OK. I've gone over the edge (No, not EDGE). I've seen too many pessimistic posts regarding Sprint's demise... particularly along the lines of "Oh, I can't stay with Sprint 'cause they're going to be gone soon."

May I be the first (in this thread) to admit that Sprint may be headed into ruins. I can't deny it's possible, but hey, I'm not running that (or any other) company, so what do I know?

Funny I should ask. I know this:
    - I have a line of service with Sprint, and I'm reasonably happy with their service.
    - I know that Sprint has posted results that don't look good
    - I know that I'm saving money over any other CDMA plan I'd find reasonable to use here in New England (Yeah, I mean Verizon).

So, the way I look at it, why shouldn't I stay with Sprint just because they might dissapear, some day, maybe? What's the worst that could happen? Why not stay with my current setup and save money until the day I'm forced to make a decision because Sprint has died?

So, I thought I might find out who we have for optimists, pessimits, etc. Hey, it's fun, and sometimes, it's funny.

The question is: Sprint's end may be coming. What will you do? Your choices are:
A: I'm with Sprint now, and I'll stay with Sprint until the end is here.
B: I'm going to join Sprint and stay until the end is here.
C: I'm with Sprint and am happy, but I see the vultures, and I'm getting out as soon as I can.
D: I was with Sprint and left because I saw the vultures and impending doom.
E: I'm not with Sprint, and the only reason I won't join is because of the expected demise.
    F: I like voting. Voting's my favorite.

Naturally I like 'A', though 'F' is tempting...

Though its possible demise may be there, if a company cannot compete, then the remaining companies become stronger - less competition. I am not worried about it. Sprint has been good for me and I have no problems with them at all.

Sprint won't up and die tomorrow... too many gov't contracts and other gov't services... sprint will be rolled into another service (altel or whatever) but it won't "go away."

If they are purchased, our plans may change, but service won't be discontinued one day. At least, I've convinced myself of this fact (in my mind, it is a fact ).

Either way I appreciate the money I've saved with sero and any additional money I can save. I'm paying below normal and figure this will not go on forever... so if sero was to die, I'd accept it and not whine about it (too much lol).

I'm not worried about sprint... guess because I have two other choices that get great reception where I live... if sprint was my ONLY choice for cell service, then I'd be concerned.

Yeah, I wanted SERO, but I figured I'd be understanding and only get it if it were legitimately offered to me by one of their employees. Of course, I'm still saving money over what I paid on VZW, so you won't hear me complain about that.

I would think that somehow the towers in an area where Sprint was the only choice would get acquired by another CDMA carrier. Of course, perhaps those (sadly) depending on iDEN would be a bit disappointed.

I've sent sprint so much business in the past 15 months that I'm sure I've more than made up for any special plans that I'm on. That same business would have more than likely went to verizon since that was my last carrier for 7 years before sprint.

I'd hope that if they did not want us "nerds" to join they would have made it a real "employee plan" and not leak it out and allow everyone to join.... not to mention offering generic emails that allowed anyone to join. I do see your point though.. it is an ethics issue.
