A Verizon employee just contacted me on my wife's phone (secondary line) regarding my eligibility for a new phone (primary line). I have the Treo 650 and no real reason to upgrade, but my wife has an old Samsung (about 3 yrs) and has finally decided on the XV6800.

The rep. told me that she was ineligable for any discounts because she wasn't the primary line.

My question is: Is that normal? The fact that we have been faithful customers for about 4 years means nothing?

I realize it says on their site that secondary lines are ineligible, I was just wondering what experience other's have.
No problem should ever be solved twice.

Hmpf! We go online and get the $100 online 2-year discount.

Noting something really funny . . . before I had a chance to print out a confirmation for the order she recieved a text thanking her for her upgrade!

Secondary lines are eligible for upgrades on Verizon. Go to a corporate Verizon store or any authorized dealer and do it there. They can look it up and it will show that the secondary line is subject for new every two.
