Hey folks, just got off the phone with Sprint Tect support. My EvDO on my 700p is slow in and around my home. They have tested the area and agreed that EvDO is slow here, do to Towers and will need to be updated, but there is no funds for it, so I'm *ss'd out. When I drive a mile away from my home EvDO speeds up. Should I request a disscount? Perks? or just get over it and wait? What do you think? I have been a customer for 9+ years and pay my bill on time, 2 lines, average bill about $175.00 a month. thanks for any ideas...

I think there is a 'fairness' argument that if you cant enjoy the full power of evdo, then you shouldnt have to pay the full price.

Now thats a different story to try and find a CSR who will give you some discounts but I wouldnt hesitate in asking. (especially if you can show that you bought the 700p based on speed claims of EVDO coverage).

Good point That's why I said o.k. hope you get the funds soon and hung up. I will think about it again and if need be I'll call them back. I made a change on the HA#'s, so at home I went from 105kb to 230-275kb, when I do get EvDO working (leave my house) I get it at 302-376kb, and at night if I'm lucky, 401kb (not at home). AT home at night I get 175kb thanks for the help..

At least you get EVDO at home RR - I am stuck with 1xrtt until Sprint upgrades, which will hopefully be soon. At least I get a 300 kbps+ EVDO signal at work.

What is the situation in Atlanta. I still use 600 and have seen the percentage of dropped calls on sprint go up remarkably since all the talk about the new fast system. Others having problem? What is cause?

    Thanks.

The 700p browser can't render fast enough for EVDO. But tethering 700p to laptop, I can get over 800Kbps.

Yikes...I have 4 phones, 1 with unlimited data and, IIRC, pay $110 a month .... your lips must be in good shape

I live in an area served by Sprint which doesn't yet have EVDO. I am on the $15/month unlimited web access plan.

I have been told (by someone other than Sprint) that if I replace my 650 with a 700P before they have EVDO service in this area that I might be able to continue to keep the $15 plan. This would allow me faster access at a rate much lower than the EVDO rate plan.

Anyone know if this will work?
