Just called and talk to sprint's retention rep and complained about problem I have with my 650 and telling him that yesterday I went to verizon and they offered $399 plus $100 to my account. He said he could do better and proceed to order mine 700p for $249.99. Sprint is awesome, and I paid for using my credit card and somehow my sprint account said that I have credit balance of $789.00. Is this normal ???? I check my credit card and my available credit is down by $249 so I think they charge me $249 for the phone but what about my credit on my account ??? yesterday I had credit balance on my sprint account of $69 today it increase by $720. Is it something that I have to worry about ??? Any idea?

The Granfatherd SMS was part of the Grandfatherd Vision pack ($10( back from the Treo300 days)), it was not seperate. I bet the best they can do is charge you and then credit you back for that charge. It's still Free unlimited SMS per se, but not what we use to have. but it works the same

I think I need to wait until I'm closer to the end of my contract. Hopefully by then OTI can beat $399 anyway and I won't need to call Sprint.

I was on the F F 1000 b4, for 59.99. Im happy, I got more than I planned.
I started the thread just to tell my story and show everyone how easy it is. Im glad people were able to save a buck by everyones story. The moral of the thread is to just be happy with your deal. I was happy with paying an extra $10 per month for Power Vision Ultimate and $399 for the phone. I have a 600 so this is a good upgrade for me. I JUST CAN WAIT FOR THE PHONE TO ARRIVE!!!!

Retention gets better by the minute. Yesterday they gave me a $150 service credit based on the $449 I paid palm (w/Dev discount), today I saw another post saying that palm was offering a $250 credit. I called retention told them the palm offer was $250 and they said no problem, weve issued a $250 credit. Now he never said he was canceling the $150 service credit I got yesterday. If they donít then I just robbed Sprint badly bad but even if they do cancel the $150, I still made out like a bandit.

I donít know how sprint makes any $$ off retention customers but god bless em.

    Bottom Line
    Sprint 700p via Palm w/Developers Discount $449
less Sprint Retention Service Credit $250 (possibly even $400 if they donít cancel the first credit)
less 650 Trade In via Palm $150

    Final Cost of 700p $49

    1000 Anytime Minutes
    7PM Night & Weekends Free
    Unlimited PowerVision
    Unlimited PCS To PCS
    Unlimited Text Messages
    Free Roaming
    $45 per month

They don't care too much about taking $$ off of the 700p sale, they care more about that monthly habit you have with them!

Go work at Circuit City for a few weeks and get a whopping 25% discount. That's what someone at my office did. Another friend worked for a few weeks at Best Buy so he can get a 42" plasma at 22% discount. It's a good option if you're in need of extra cash and a discount at the same time.

Last week when I posted that I got the treos for $300 shipped tax no activation I got hosed by a few here for making a big deal of it. the point was it was so easy. On the 18th I was promisted $350 per phone. I called back on the 27th and they dropped it to $300. It was not hard at all to push them down.

I also got a third from palm at 549 for which they applied the same $350 credit. So I have a third 700p for $199!

The irony is on the 18th I had added two TEP plans in anticipation of the 700ps. I think this pushed my account billing amount high enough that they made the $300 offers on the 700s. At this point I have two 300ps which I billed to amex for $300 each, and a $350 credit on the $550 unit. I am going to kil the $300 worth of TEP ($6x2linesx24months+tax) and "self insure withteh extra 700p. If they ask for it back I will get them to activate it on a fourth line which on my account "retention notes" states I get free and jsut let it sit.

I mentioned the $300 cost here last week not to gloat but because I found $350 was EASY. $399 is not a retention price if you are out of contract. that is a simple price match to both verizon and new sprint. If you have been a customer a few two year cycles -- and paid your bills -- get them to give you that and apply a credit on top.

If the store screws up one bit and the phone is not there make sure to call retention and ask for another $50 - $100.

Also tell retention your ofice mate just got powervision basic and he gets a $5 credit per month to bring it to $10 (this is a VERY common discount).

What was credited to your account? I am assuming that you have some credit and a monthly bill on there right now? If you paid $399 is there a credit on your account for that amount or is it more?
"So long and thanks for all the Treos!"

I've been trolling this site for too long, researching deals and 700p stuff. I finally pulled the trigger, thanks to all the info from this thread and others. Here's what I have (Thanks to a SUPER nice Sprint retention specialist):

Got phone for $450.00 + $100.00 service credit = $350.00 final phone cost

50.00/month base service plan with +5% additional discount on phone plan (23% existing corporate discount applies--I hope) = 28% discount on phone plan ($36.00/month)

    Phone plan includes:
    --free roaming
    --free mobile to mobile
--400 minutes peak talk time (nights + weekends free)
    --7PM nights
    --Unlimited Power Vision

This not the best plan I've read here, but it's the God's honest truth, and I'm very pleased.

Quick question: Can I get anything for my old, beat-up Treo 600 (that's right, I'm old school baby!)?

You should be able to get a $250 service credit. Call back and tell them that Palm is offering a $250 credit (sprintportal.com) and they should give it to you. I didnt even have to fight for it. I told them and they just said ok..

So let me get this straight, because I didn't mention that I am an existing Sprint customer (in contract) and had the $36.00 activation fee waived as well (I had to ask for it):
If I call Sprint retention back and state that Palm is offering a $250.00 service credit (www.sprintportal.com) at activation time, they will give me this service credit?

    this is what i have:

    700p for 374.99....

upgrade to EVDO for free when new phone comes...continue paying original 10.00 / month

7 pm free calls for free

1000 anytime mins for the lower rate of 40.00 instead of 50.00

    unlimited Txts for 5.00
    ...................................................
after reading all of your posts...seems like i got a bad deal ugh...
so i'm on with retentions and going to see if i can get the mobile to mobile for free...

    also
i also had received a credit of 535.00 on my bill (that i found out about today on the automated services...)

why did i get this credit?
    anyone?
i'm not complaining, i'd just like to know...
it was given to me yesterday when i did the above-deal with retentions a/k/a consumer select...

i mean honestly receiving 535.00 in credit is pretty amazing...so amazing that it's like i got my phone for free and also 2 months of free cellular service...

can anyone give me the lowdown on where that credit came from...
    ~there is no spoon~
