I got a decent deal I guess, I don't really know. I called in to cancel and got a 1500 shared plan on 3 lines with power vision or vision on all 3 and 100 text messages per account, since we dont use text much. PCS to PCS and nights at 7 of course for about $95 a month. Got a $100 service credit and 200 more on any phone I choose, which means the 700p in a couple weeks.

Sprint retentions really are nice to deal with. I got:

    -550 minute family plan (shared)
    -free pcs to pcs
    -free roaming
    -nights/weekends beg 7pm
    -free unlimited text
    -$15 power vision with:
    - unlimited non-DUN data
    - unlimited picture mail
    - full sprint TV
    - $6 insurance/replacement
    - 20% off entire bill

Plus, I had previously negotiated $300 off the 700p due to a mangled 650.

Monthly bill, for 2 lines, under $65. Basically 2 SERO plans without the nonsense. Getting more than I have now, for less $$, and my contract was not up until 11/06.

I was out of contract. Had 2 650s with 2000 minutes shared, unlimited vision and text. $110 a month, 5$ discount, $6 insurance on one 650. Wanted to add a third line and nicely said other carriers offering great deals.

Sprint retentions offered 3rd line for $0 a month, shared minutes, increased discount to 15%. And a free Samsung A920! Well it took 15 calls with 6 CSRs to get it arranged but in the end they did it.

They lowered my monthly charge to $85 because I had to pay $10 a month for the Power Vision Plus Pack on the third line - the A920.

So $85+$10 with a 15% discount gives me 3 lines that share 2000 minutes, unlimited text, 7 PM nights, unlimited vision on 650s + Power Vision on A920, unlimited mobile-to-mobile.

Store CSR said it is unheard of to get the third line at no monthly add-on charge. Only downside is three agreements - one per line, all with a $150 term fee. Tried to get that undone when I got first letters as I had agreed to A contact, not three, but no dice. Too scared to mess with the lines and codes - all sorts of "Z" codes to credit back charges each month, like the $7.50 for unlimited text on the third line

If you do try to get this, be aware that fulfillment in India will not ship a phone with a zero monthly "add sub". So they had to set it to $20 till the order filled, then set it back to $0.

It was bizarre how it was SO hard to get this all set up - the original rep documented her offer to me but man it took 10+ hours on the phone to get the phone shipped, the right mix of codes, etc.

OK. I did it. After talking to a retention rep I bought the 700p on the palm site.

Retention was really nice. I got EVDO added to my existing $85.00 2000min free and clear plan for nothing...

    EVDO $10.00
    Monthly credit of $10.00

She also gave me a $75.00 one time credit to make up for losing the instant rebate I was losing by buying the phone from palm where I plan to take advantage of their trade in offer for my 650. Buying from Palm also includes a 1gb SD Card. So I paid...

    $649.00
    - 75.00 Sprint credit
    - 150.00 650 trade in
    Total $424.00

She also told me that I will be able to continue to use bluetooth DUN on my mac without having to pay the $40 PAM charge. She insisted this was the case but if not that I should call back and they will make it right. I hope so.

Nice...Congrats.....if I could just get EVDO and PAM added for free, I would be happy. I am not even asking for any rebate or credit.

I'm currently on a grandfathered plan. I have $100 for 2500 minutes, free vision, free SMS, free Picturemail, two lines included. main is my treo 650, second is an LG PM325

I called retention to see what they could do to help me get a Treo 700 and stay on Sprint, rather then going to Verizon or a blackberry.

Basically they couldn't do squat... or I was talking to the wrong person.

He informed me that it would cost extra because of the new technology. Even though I am in an area that doesn't have EVDO, it will be coming.

    So..now what do I do when I get the 700p from palm.....ARGH!

Do I call back and try again?
    Sero?
    ESN Swap?

I don't care about the SMS so much... or the extra line I have now.
This is so lame. I just wish I could stick with my existing plan.

Definitely keep calling until you get someone that will give you a plan that makes sense for you. My first call had a result similar to what you described. I think others have called back several times.

What did he tell you it would cost. I know they have a special code that will give you EVDO for $10. This is simply added to your existing plan. If you are real nice, they have the authority to credit you that $10/month on your bill. So it shouldn't increase your current plan by any more than $10 and if you play your nice card well enough, you should be able to get that taken care of.

One thing I think helped me was that I put together a bunch of questions and kept the rep busy answering my questions, joking with her along the way, being overly appreciative of any thing she offered me. The $10 credit came at the very end, out of the blue, when she was reading what she was setting up back to me.

So..you think I should try that..or should I try the ESN swap route first?

    My current plan:

    $50 - 1500 mins N&W @ 7pm
$10 - Unlimited Vision, picture, videomail & SMS
    $0 - FIMF
    $0 - Roaming
    $0 - Mobile 2 Mobile
    $6 - Equipment Protection

Discounts 25% Business, 10% Home Long Distance, 5% loyality

I called today to be sure that if i get the 700p i wont have to change my plan, and they noted on my acct. that all i have to do is have an esn swap. And that the only thing i probably be losing is sprint tv because i would get evdo in the area available. But they did offer me the sero plan if i did ever want to switch. They also just 2 wks ago gave me $150 credit on my acct. for renewing my contract because ive had the 650 since Dec. of 05 and always did esn swaps between that time when my treo was at the store being fixed. So definitiely talk to retention 1st. and just do the esn swap.

with SERO you will get sprint TV, unlimited POWER VISION, and all above perks you mentioned with nice 1250 anytime minutes starting at 9pm and free roaming. Only thing u will loose is unlimited sms and nights starting at 7 (both are available for extra in SERO plan)

The key to winning the battle is a combination of price, convenience, marketing, sound business model and a bit of luck.

Is that a fair & flexible plan? Also, how long have you been with sprint?

Here's a question for all of you - kind of complicated. First of all, my line is the 2nd line on my wife's account. My contract has expired but my wife's has not. I just found out that employees of my company get a discount. I know that in order to get the discount I need to have the plan in my name. Also, my wife just got one of those "$100 credit for renewing your 2-year agreement" offers in the mail. Finally, I want to upgrade to the 700p but I want to get the deal a new customer gets, not just the $75 upgrade discount I qualify for.

Any suggestions on the order in which I should tackle this? Should I try to do it all at once or should I spread it out to several calls to different departments (business, retentions, etc.)?

What I am thinking I will have to do is pull myself off of her account onto a business account keeping the same # and arranging my deal for the 700p at that time. Then I will merge my wife's account into my account so we can share minutes (unless they are willing to give us individual SERO plans). I want to get one of these loyalty plans but I don't want to use up all of sprint's cooperation when working out my deal for the 700p.

    Any ideas??

I have been working with retentions for about two weeks now and they have offered me two new phones, my old f & f plan for 800 min for $70 w/nights and weekends & pcs to pcs ($5 for 100 extra mins.). They will add Vision for free for the length of my 2 yr. contract. My problem is that I want to get the new 700p and I'm being told that I will have to pay for the power vision. She finally offered to give me a 20% discount that would bring plan w/power vision back down to $73. I don't really use most of the vision features that much, but I do want to stay current.

Should I get the 700p and an A900 for my wife with the power vision for $73/mo. or get the 650 with a Sanyo MM-8300 for my wife and unlimited vision w/20% discount for $56?

Is EVDO really that much faster? Is coverage a problem?

    Thanks for your help.

EVDO is that much faster, but if all you're doing is reading your email I dont think it would be worth it.
