    if you get unlimited data, does that include text messaging, aim, sms etc...or is that a separate charge?

    Depends on the carrier and the specific plan. "Text messaging" and "SMS" are the same thing; they're usually not automatically included in unlimited data. My Sprint plan, for example, has unlimited data, unlimited incoming SMS, and 100 outgoing SMS per month.

    I'm not a big mobile IM user, but I think IM can use either standard data or SMS, depending on which app you use for it. Charges would depend on which method your app uses and how your plan charges for that method.
