I dunno. It might be possible. Telesales reported no inventory but after the sales spiel for other plans the woman sounded plausible for doing a SERO plan directly. I will try again tomorrow when in theory they might have inventory.

But for now the research is inconclusive.

Hard sellers, those telesales people. What about a lovely 700wx? No. What about a Motorola? No. What about a data card? No. I want a damn blue 755p with the 1,250 minute SERO plan.

I hope it works for you so I can get one too

I'm trying to do that just to get a 700p.
I ordered it on Fri night and am trying to get a confirmation without any success.
Now I know why Sprint has the worst CS in the biz.
It's like these guys don't want my business.

Here's what happened since last Monday.

OK, my VZW contract ended Sunday.
The Monday before, I go to the SERO site and order a Treo 700p, get approved and wait.
    And wait.
    And wait.
    And wait.
I could never get a straight answer from Inphonics.
So I figure, it's Friday night, what the heck, call Sprint directly and ask them for a SERO plan with a 700p.
The CS rep is very helpful, I ask him flat out, can I get SERO plan this way?
He says yes, I order the phone (which took 30 minutes because of computer delays).
Sat morning, I want to get another order confirmation that I've ordered the 700p and not 700w.
This is where the fun starts.
I call, ask for order status, they're off for the weekend, says, e-mail customer care.
Which I do, first they say, yes, that's your order no.
I reply, no, I want an order confirmation of WHAT I ordered.
I get this reply: "Thank you for writing back.

In order to assist you best possible way, please call our Internet Order Desk at 1-866-277-0717. Our specialist will do the needful.

Thank you for contacting us. Have a great day.

    "Where our customers come first!"

What kind of English is that?
So I know not to call on Sunday.
So Monday comes, I try calling, I get put on hold, after 20 minutes, I have to run some errands, so I hang up.
    I try another e-mail.
I get this reply: "Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand your concern regarding the status of the order.

If you have placed the order from our Web site, please call our Internet Order desk at 1-866-277-0717. However, if you have ordered the handset from Telesales, please contact us at 1-800-480-4727.

Thank you for contacting us. Have a great day.

    E-Care
    Sprint together with Nextel
    "Where our customers come first!"

What is the point of having e-mail support if it tells you to CALL?

    So tonight, I call 1-800-Sprint1.
I enter the number for existing orders, I get a Nextel guy, who says he can't help me. He gives me another number, which I try, it says, "we're closed."
I try 1-800-Sprint1, do the same thing, get another Nextel rep.
I try another number, get on hold, says 15 to 20 minutes hold time.
At the 20 miniute mark, it hangs up on me.

So am I being a jerk here or do I have a legitimate gripe.
All I want is a confirmation of what I ordered and if it has shipped, and if so, a tracking number.
Heaven help me when I try to get the SERO plan.

    welcome to sprint

    it could be worse...

seriously, no joke. I spent probably over 30 hrs on hold/on the phone over a few weeks with sprint because one of their towers had a "power flux" issue and i couldn't receive incoming calls. What was the result of my 30 hrs of work? nothing - they told me to wait 5 months for them to put up a new tower in my area. Its 5 months now, and at least i *think* the tower went up, cause i can receive incoming calls now...

its not all bad though - SERO is so cheap and once you get it straightened out, no need to deal with those idiots any more.

patchs, you give me hope (and fear). Hope that I can get the 755p through regular telesales. Fear of the nearly inevitable hours on the phone trying to get this done.

SERO online for my 700wx was painless. The only pain was waiting for the package to arrive.

Telesales . . . eh. Maybe I will just wait for the SERO website to get updated. I'm patient.

    Nah.

Much better this morning. Called Sprint CS, got a Nextel rep, she transferred me to Sprint, and I got a person within a minute.
She said the 700p had shipped and gave me a tracking number.
It arrived 90 minutes ago, have ported (waiting for it to take), got the SERO plan, although the CS rep said my nights start at 9, not 7 p.m.
Important thing is it does have unlimited web, hopefully Sprint's EVDO will be on in my area soon.
I'm so close to getting this squared away.

The SERO site is NOT listing any Treo phones today.
Of PDA types they list ONLY the 6700, Motorola Q and BB 7130e

New member here, found the site when someone mentioned SERO at work today. Was wondering if anyone can assist...

I have the sign on information I need for the SERO site (as provided with some searching) but just this past Monday I started my new Sprint service with a 755p and corporate discounted voice and unlimited data plan. I was happy, till I heard this... My current plan comes out to around $47 per month as is.

Can I go back to the Sprint store while my 30 days is still in effect and request the SERO plan be done to replace my current? Or do I tell them to take it all back and sign back up via the on-line SERO site?

Problem is I like the Treo 755p and do not wish to get rid of it (and they are not offered on SERO yet)

Heck for $30 per month and getting more than what I am for $47 sounds like a deal to me!

    An update...

I called customer service this morning (what a treat that was) and was on hold for approx 15 minutes, the rep who got on the call stated at first she had never heard of this offer, but if I could hold for 5 minutes she would get back to me. She did and stated that she now was aware of the offer, but it would require the Sprint Employee who referred me to sign in on the web site. I explained that the web site she provided (same as all of us know about) only asks for emp email and zip code and that my question is that I got new service from Sprint this past Monday and wanted to change my plan to the SERO plan. She then stated I needed to start a new account, again explained I did on Monday, just wanted to get SERO. She then referred me to Account Services. Another 10 minute wait, and the Account Services rep stated I needed to go through the web site. Once again I explained the question - new plan on Monday, want to change plan, I am still in my grace period, I will cancel (done nicely). Same response, but this time the rep offers me to go to the store I activated my plan. Did so today and the store rep and manager stated "what plan" and after a few minutes then magically knew about it and stated they could do nothing at the store and it needs to be on-line.

Fall back - I will take advantage of the grace period within the next week. Wait for Treos to be offered again and then access the SERO site to sign up.

One more call to Cust Service this week to see if any progress can be made to simply switch plans.

you should try 2 different things

    1. email Ecare, asking to have your account switched over to SERO, explain that you are in your trial period bla bla bla

    2. call and ask for retentions, repeat the trial period bla bla bla

I have had the most luck with Ecare, I got free unlimited text messaging, FIMF and 200 additional any time minutes free via Ecare.

Just be polite and persistant. Persistance pays off when dealing with Sprint

    hope this helps

    Good luck!

I have to tell you, I've been with Sprint for two days and can say that I have honestly never seen worse customer service in my life, and I've dealt with ATT for years. Now I would never go back to Verizon's prices, but Sprint takes 15 minutes to answer the phone (Verizon always less than 1 or 2) and they just say sorry we can't.

By the way, they have the TREO 700p & wx back up on the SERO site.
    Kyocera 6035 > Kyocera 7135 > Treo 600 > Treo 650. All Verizon. Sprint Treo 755p, HTC Mogul & Centro
Unlocked Treo 680 for trips outside Sprint's areas

I just checked my SERO plan online, and the only thing I didn't get was the 7 p.m. nights.
    Everything else checks out.
I have my 700p (purchased through Sprint and not Inphonic) with the NFL Mobile app and now it's just a matter of weeks until EVDO is up in my area.
Soon, I'll send in the $350 in rebates and keeping my fingers crossed, will have a free 700p.

Wow the cs, seems very bad. kind of scaring me from joining sprint

Several phones are back on the SERO site. The Q, Treo 700p, and 700wx are all back, they had disappeared a few days ago. Still no 755p though.

It's hit and miss. When I ordered the 700p, I had a nice rep who got me the SERO plan.
Then I couldn't get anyone who could give me an order status, then the day the Treo came, I had plenty of good help.
    It's worth taking a shot.
  16. #816
Where are you getting such good rebates from?

    Thanks

With a heavy heart I am going to have to give up my SERO plan and 700wx. Text messages from overseas don't come through to Sprint because Sprint doesn't have contracts with the overseas carriers. I have to go back to a GSM phone. I am not going to see such reasonable rates at T-Mo or Cingular, unfortunately.

I am 4 months into the $99.99/month 2,500 minute plan. Thus if I terminate now Sprint is going to want an early termination fee.

    1. Does anyone know if Inphonics also wants an early termination fee? I think I remember something about having to keep the line 6 months or you incur a fee to Inphonics.

    2. Meh. Anyone want a SERO plan?

Well my calls and emails have fallen on deaf ears and numb fingers it seems. No CSR (4 calls - total time 2 hours) or ECare rep (3 emails) has provided any support or options to me. Funny thing is, I have a Sprint Rep at our work who was the one who told me of the plan, but can no longer participate in SERO as she has already referred 5 people. Even her call in had a CRS stating "need to go to the site, start new plan etc". We cannot understand why they cannot simply transfer my plan over... End answer from CRS to me and her was "cancel your current plan, return the phone, order a new service and number on the SERO site. They even asked me to see if the employee from Sprint who was referring me could provide "documentation" of her employment!

ECare has responded within 24 hours to my questions, but never answered them. Both replies from ECare have stated the conditions of the SERO program and a link to the site. My last response was noted at the end "please let me know if it is possible for me to transfer to the SERO plan. As noted I was referred to this plan (SERO) by our Sprint rep at ******, after I had started new Sprint service this past Monday. I am still well within my trail period, and do not wish to cancel my service or return my phone. If canceling my service is my only option, I will do so. I understand I have other options available to me for cell & data services. Thank you again for your prompt response".

I am finding the Cust Service to be horrible and this alone may cause me to leave Sprint.

Ugh, I was going to order the 700p tonight (it was on the SERO site yesterday) and it's not there anymore...it's so hit and miss. I guess I will have to keep checking!

They must have just removed it... I checked the site at around 3-4pm today and it was still there.
