is now working.... I just tried with my zip code... maybe it does not like your zip? change the zip around, to get in... then you can change back to your zip once you order.

So far I'm loving my phone. I had to get the 700wx after the 700p was not in stock. I'm really surprised at this phone. One week and NO issues. I thought for sure something would crop up or there would be a catch... much like what happened with the treo 650 I had (I went through hell with that phone).

Seems like the rebates going through are the $150 and (some reporting) the $75 kellogs as well. The additional $100 rebate is not going through. although, even with the $150 rebate, you are only paying $150 for the treo 700wx ($299 phone).

Anyone using Spring in the Baltimore/Washington area? Let me know how its going...

gijohn, you can do that on the 700p also. from the main screen, go to options, roaming preferences and select roaming networks only.

Hello, I am looking for feedback from the Treo & SERO experts. I have read and read and re-read this thread and others. Used the search feature to the best of its ability. I am confident someone will flame me with threads responding to my questions but here goes.

Just ordered a Lusic with the SERO 500 plan for my daughter she will make the jump from VirginMobile pay as you go, put it under wifey's name.

I have a Treo 650 and been on sprint since the Treo 300, I have a F&FP 1000 minutes, NW @ 7, Unlimited Vision, equipment protection, will be out of contract 11/07 paying $76.99 a month. I want to upgrade the Treo 650 when the better units come out hopefully this year and still staying with Palm OS.

Notes: I am thinking of using my daughters "old" virgin mobile if I need it to hold my Treo #. When we get her phone I will call to change the caller ID and hit them up for free 500 texts within the first 30 days. I could almost pay out the EFT if the arguments with the change of agreement on the insurance increase (which I have) or the $25 charge for reconnection or the Directory Assistance fee increase do not fly. I also intend to hit them up for a loyalty discount since I have been with them for years.

    The questions are:
    1. If I call retentions and get them to give me SERO and renew my contract what does that do for my chances of getting a newer Treo later this year to take advantage of the vision, etc?
    2. Can I somehow merge these accounts to get the benefits of shared minutes ala a Family Plan since my daughter will not be using the phone that much?
    3. Should I be looking to do anything different to maximize my benefits that I have not thought of with SERO, et all?

Thank you all in advance for your time and help in getting me the very best plan

    1. From what I've heard when our sero plans are up, we can't even get breaks on new phones. Of course that may change.

    2. and 3. visit the sero and sprint sites and compare plans. I don't even think sero offers a "family" plan (from what I understand). I was all over the net and from what I take is if you have the need for more than one phone, it might be best to get a regular family plan or two sero plans.... depending on how it works out and if you need internet, etc... I also read one day where a member was able to get free internet with his family plan (? think it was a family plan ... two phones on one plan) and pays only $5 above two sero plans, plus he had a couple of extra minutes. Worked that out through retenetions.

It all depends on what you need and what sprint is willing to offer.

I've read all kinds of stuff... you never know what will happen at retentions when you call.... if you were never late with payments and been on there for a while in an area with good verizon or (whatever carrier) coverage, they may cut you a deal.

I don't think anyone should chew you out... but you will have to look at the two sites and look at your situation before making the decision on your own.... lot of varibles that may have worked for one person but not worked for you... never know....

When do you think the Q will be on SERO?
  9. #709
If you're looking to buy or switch from another carrier ... you could always call CS and tell them you'd like to get on the SERO rate plan. (have a bonafide Sprint employee email address at hand in case they ask you for one)

If you don't like the answer you get ... call back in an hour and speak to someone else.

Find the "**Sero: part II" thread... near the top of the first page. Look on the FIRST POST of that thread and it provides all the information you need. The person that maintains the thread is doing a great job, IMO... loads of information in that first post.

I also learned that we will be able to upgrade our phones on the SERO plan once our contract is up...

This SERO plan is a great deal.... The 700wx is a nice phone for the price... even better after the rebates and cheap service contract....

My VZW contract ends in 3 months and I'm thinking of ditching my 650 for the 700p.
But VZW's crazy data prices may force me to try this SERO thing. My dad has Sprint and it works fine for him.
I looked at the coverage map for my area and it's not the darkest color, but the second darkest, so it looks like coverage should be fine.
From reading other parts of this thread, it looks like I can port.
Is it smarter/easier to get SERO on the web or call?
Also my area doesn't have Sprint's version of VZW's EVDO, can I roam on that? Or can I only use Sprint's 1x?
Thanks for any help. Lot of good info.

I'm in the second darkest... I get a fine signal.

Web only... some people call, but it is a very hit and miss deal. Better to just order on the web and be done with it. The company that ships the phone has terrible support, so just follow the directions in the link above and get the phone... don't call them, you will get pissed. lol... the support sucks bad. For the deal, it is well worth it... and if you follow directions and stop BS'ing around, you will not have any issues. If you are one of those people who need someone to "sell" them something, get over it... just order online.

Roaming data on verizon is only 1x (it is free). If sprint has 1x in your area, you will use that.

Also, I'd get the 700wx... the 700p seems to have too many issues IMO. Small issue though... but my 700wx is solid. I sent a 650 back... I don't care if it has windows or palm... I just wanted something that worked. I did not want to see reset hell.

700wx gets a fine signal... I got it for data only, but I'm using it as my main phone more and more... I did not think that would happen. Sounds good, even when roaming on verizon.

Getting it online is standard, so that is much easier. However I got my phones at a brick and mortar store, then called in during my intro period and worked my way up the chain until a manager switched my plans [I established two accounts, one for me, one for my wife]. So it can happen. The main reason I went that route is that the model I was interested in [Treo 700p] was not offered on the website at the time. I didn't know how long the SERO plans would be available, so I decided to buy phones in person, then if I couldn't get the plans switched to SERO, I'd simply return the phones during the intro period.

    Hey all,

My old Sanyo 200 phone finally called it quits on me on Saturday morning, so I figure now is a good time to get a new phone and a SERO plan. Could anyone recommend a course of action to me based on my situation?

I started a two year contract with Sprint in June 05 on their $35 fair and flexible plan with 15% corporate discount and a Sanyo SCP-200 phone. I've got NW starting at 7 and unlimited text messaging. My current bill comes out to approx. $55 each month.

I've been wanting to switch over to a SERO plan but wanted to try to wait until I could get the $150 rebate on a new power vision phone for being with Sprint for 24 months (i'm eligible in April). However, Since my phone broke this weekend and my birthday is on Tuesday, i'm going to go ahead and get everything taken care of now.

I don't think i'll have any problem getting SERO, but I was wondering if I should get my plan switched over to a SERO plan and then get a power vision phone or get the phone first and then switch to the SERO plan. Also, any recommendations out there on which phone to get and how I can get it at a discount?

Thanks in advance for any help.

SERO - the Sprint employee deal is still accessible to the public. Now there's brand new phone discounts.

The TREOs dropped another $50 to $249.99 and the new MOTOROLA Q dropped $100 to only $99.99 -- these are instant savings so you donít have to deal with mail in rebates.

The SAMSUNG A900M is only $29.99 and the SAMSUNG A640 is FREE! The discounted RAZRs and the FREE i670 are still supposed to be good through Feb 28 too.

Thereís some HUGE savings on many devices now in addition to the $30 service plan offer! Use the email enternow@sprint.com to get in at www.sprint.com/sero.

lol... what charade? You order, wait for the phone, and it works. No charade. ... unless you want to start asking for free stuff, but even then, no one has ever asked me who I knew at sprint. lol...
