I get the card pop up problem when it starts downloading games for that day.

There's been a separate preference for that for a while now. On the settings page, scroll down to the baseball section. You can change the "game website" setting to your desired site.

Sports Live in recent weeks increasingly has trouble connecting to the Internet on my Veer. Seems to mostly happen when off of wifi, but sometimes when the veer is back in wifi range the problem remains. The problem seems isolated to Sports Live... I can access the Internet in the browser and other apps. Any suggestions?

There were some issues with the score feeds yesterday, which caused these "no network" errors to appear, but they were resolved yesterday afternoon. We have an update coming that fixes this behavior so they are not improperly reported as "no network".
