Default Unlocked GSM Palm Pre 2 Available

I bought a Unlocked Pre 2 from the HP store a few weeks ago with the hopes of Sprint-a-fying it. However, being the rusher that I am, I broke the volume ribbon cable .

After that happened, I put the phone back together to see if it would still work. With the exception of the volume rocker, the phone still works perfectly (volume can be controlled via the settings.) It's pre-activated with TMobile sim card.

I'm kinda disappointed cause I was hoping to replace my Sprint Pre with a webOS device that could last me until the Pre 3. I think I'll just pick up the Nexus S 4G in the mean time. My loss is your gain. I would like to get $175 for it, but all offers are cool.

You know what, I didnt even try that. I used a friend's sim card to get it activated to ensure that the phone still worked.

I just turned it on and connected it to my local wifi, and it looks like it has full access to the app store.

couldn't you use the ribbon cable from your Sprint phone to make this work?

It's soldered to the board, if you break it it's really difficult to replace

Those are good recommendations, but I'm pretty sure I forfeited the warranty when I chose to take it apart.

I'm still on my launch-day Pre which is slowly falling apart/failing. Realistically, I think I'm just kind of frustrated that I would even have to go to these measures to get a new webOS phone.

The person could swap the entire camera/ribbon module between the pre2 and sprint pre. The phones use the same processor architecture, so their is a chance that the camera would still work.

Yep, but then you step down from 5 MP to 3 MP.
I'd hate to be in your shoes buddy.

Interesting, I thought about possibly doing that (swapping the cam/speaker), but I figured I didn't want to push my luck. lol
