I saw a story that an LG Smart TV had been infected with ransomware over Christmas. I was intrigued that there might be a webOS virus out there!

It turns out that this was an Android TV. But apparently, the (former) owner had got advice from LG on performing a factory reset. In the video, he states that it's a 2012 model - webOS TVs came out in 2014. So, it occurred to me that if a certain button combination could reset a 2012 TV, perhaps the same or similar would work on later model sets, despite the different S/W.

The factory reset code is to hold Settings, then hold Channel Down, then release Settings, then release Channel Down (this is on the unit, not the remote).

Maybe this could be useful, maybe not.
