Default Dealert

Dealert Updates
Updated 4/11/11

Dealert v1.4 Changelog

Feature: Exhibition mode support! Dealert can now display random deals throughout the day when your device is placed on a Touchstone charging dock. (webOS 2.1+ required)
Feature: "Send to myself" feature added. You may now store your email address for fast emailing of deals to yourself.
Bug: Fixed time display problem on certain deals.

Dealert Description

Dealert is a deal-tracking application that allows users to track product deals across many deal sites. When you enter a product into the Dealert Tracking System, Dealert will run periodically in the background to see if that product has dropped in price. If you do not wish to track any products, you can still view all of the deals the sites have to offer. Dealert will pull down pictures, descriptions, and more and allow you to send any deal to your friends. Dealert also incorporates a user-feedback system that allows users to provide feedback to the developer in the form of comments, new features, bugs, and new deal sites to be added. With Dealert, you will be saving money in no time.

Included Sites:
  • Slickdeals.net
  • Fatwallet.com
  • Woot.com
  • DealsPlus.com
  • Dealnews.com
  • Dealcatcher.com
  • Techbargains.com
  • DODTracker.com
  • eDealinfo.com
  • Amazon.com
  • BradsDeals.com
  • BensBargains.net
  • Newegg.com
  • BestBuy.com
  • Gazaro.com
... more sites are always being added!

Dealert is available right now in the App Catalog for $1.99.

If you have any questions, comments, feature requests, etc, just let me know. As always, I love to hear what the community thinks and wants to see added to the application.

Thanks everyone!

Kev, is it possible to add an option for price range while tracking a product?

RMB, I will definitely look into that for a future update. Right now, I am working on some much overdue features for Dealert (keyword tracking, instead of exact match tracking).

Should hit right around when webOS 2.0 hits =) I'll see if I can't squeeze in price range tracking as well.

Awesome, glad to hear it! I am about to release v1.4, which includes a really neat Exhibition mode feature.

I am submitting it to Palm next week =)

Got the update. Its great having exhibition support!

A couple suggestions:
1) Be able to change views to see more deals @ once. Have the existing view, but also add a small icon view that shows 4 deals @ once and a list view that has smaller icons showing maybe 8. The list view can scroll up as it adds new deals. Add slight animation to it to make it interesting.

2) An option to only show deals from the tracking list. Sometimes if too many useless items pass by its human nature to get desensitized and stop paying attention. That way it'll only show items of interest to the user.

Those are great suggestions! I will look into adding those features. Just out of curiosity, how many items do you usually have in your tracking list?

I usually have 15-20.

I have some that typically bring many results such as "XBox 360".

Default Giving away Dealert promo code

I'm giving away a Dealert promo code I won in the PreCentral contest. Turns out I'm not getting a WebOS 2.x device any time soon, so I'm willing to part with it.

The first person interested who replies to this post in public or PM will receive the promo code. Good luck!

Great, thanks! Looking forward to it. It's one of the apps I miss the most since switching to an Android phone.

Me to, wish I could run it in landscape on the touchpad without losing navigation buttons and full screen touchpad exhibition mode, but still love it.
