After some head scratching, completely stumped H2o customer service agents and quite a few configuration changes along with long restarts (boy WebOS is slow to restart, and even longer with Uber Kernel) I have found the winning combination for MMS functionality for the Veer on the H2o 'network':

    MMS APN - att.mvno
    Username - blank
    Password - blank
    MMS Properties
    MMSC - http://mmsc.cingular.com
    MMS Proxy - wireless.cingular.com:80
    Max Size - 300

The auto config option on their website sets the proxy as 66.209.11.33 and max at 600 which doesn't work for the Veer but does on an N9. The Pixi will work without :80 and a max of 600.
Still waiting for their 'tech' specialist to call, that was 3 weeks ago!
Love the service though, essentially 1000mins, unlimited domestic sms/mms, limited international sms and a small credit for 011 calls with direct dialing. A bit hard to beat really.

Thanks for the info! I am looking to buy and unlock an AT&T Veer to use with one of the BYOP providers.

Did you have to call them to activate service? Also, did you port your number?

Yes and yes. If you get an AT&T Veer and H2o service is doesn't need to be unlocked since H2o uses the AT&T network. You'll need a SIM which is available online or at Best Buy for $10. Port the number first then activate the SIM and choose a plan. I am on $30/mth which gives me 500MB data and $5 international credit. I don't usually come close to the data limit but I just started using freeTether and those MB's go pretty fast when surfing on a tablet! Also, I have found it best to do a complete wipe of the Veer before getting everyting setup the way you want ie: apps, patches etc. On my first attempt, without a full wipe, I couldn't sync any Google stuff without a patch, had the app store certificate issue and couldn't get the updated and much improved HP 'Bing' Maps.

H20 coverage looks good here, appreciate you taking the time to post settings.
I won't be tethering, mostly using wifi, and like the $30 option.

No problem. I've set up 2 Pixi's, 2 Veers and an N9 on H2o and all had their own particular settings. At less than half what At&t charges though it's worth the effort! Good luck.

I saw 2 different SIMs for H20, can you tell me which one you bought?

The Smart SIM in yellow packaging is the one to get.
