YouTube not working

My YouTube suddenly stopped working last week (or the week before that). I'm on 2.2.4 so YouTube is just the mobile page and it loads just fine, browsing works the same but when I tap the video to start playback it does nothing!
I've tried clearing the browser's cache and even a visit to herrie's new doctor, but nothing changed.
Anyone having the same problems?

If I read some posts correctly the old YouTube app is still in 2.2.4, just hidden, any pointers in how to access the old app?

Have you tried it recently? Mine was broken too but it started working again late last night, also a 2.2.4 Veer.
