im trying to tether my Veer internet to my Netbook,
wifi tethering works great, but Bluetooth not! my netbook paired with Veer OK but i cant make a connection to use tether, bluetooth services that my netbook bluetooth found is streaming my Veer music to my netbook speakers.

is it a webos problem and webos 2.1.2 dosnt support tether using bluetooth?

    Are you using freetether?

I just tried Veer + Touchpad over BlueTooth and no tethering...

How about USB tethering? Tried that?

    Yes im using Freetether.
i didnt try USB tethering, i prefer wireless tethering like wifi and bluetooth, wifi works excellent but i need bluetooth tethering to benefit from battery more than wifi

I tried bluetooth tethering with freetether on my Veer a few weeks ago and I couldn't get it to work either, had to use wifi. I don't think it was a problem with the laptop because I'm sure I had used bluetooth PAN with my old Windows Mobile phone on it in the past. If you're worried about battery wouldn't USB tethering be the best? I haven't tried that yet, when I was doing it I just had the phone sitting on the touchstone so wifi was fine.

I assumed battery was the main concern... That is why I suggested USB tethering.

Not a good option for TP as it doesn't help either battery, but for my Laptop I've used USB tethering to very good effect. That was under Windows 7...

Now that I'm on Windows 8 there is a technical hurdle I have to get back to solving... The USBnet driver was found... The phone connects... No interwebz. Not terribly vital to me ATM, but I'll get back to that one some day.

I can get my Veer to connect to my Touchpad via bluetooth to make phone calls but it still won't SMS like my old Pre used to.
If anyone knows a way..... Please let me know.

Assume you are still at webOS 2.1.x....

    Need MAP from webOS 2.2.4...

I though 2.2.4 had a few bugs that made it not worth the update???

I just looked at the link John Steffes posted... It isn't the 2.2.4 Meta-Doctor. It's a Meta-Doctor Script to extract the BlueTooth files you need in order to inject them onto the Veer.

    Looks like a fun project.

Also there is a Meta-Doctor Script for Franken-TTS-ATT-Veer-2.1.2

Sounds complicated. Does it come as a patch?:-)

The parts are not redistributable. Looks like it depends on the hard to find Unicorn, Veer 2.2.4 files.
