WebOS 2.2.3 is already there for Veer

Hi all,

Great news

Just received my Veer from Ebay and surprisingly found it has WebOS 2.2.3 preinstalled. Take a look at my pic below.

With this version, I am able to TTS web with my touchpad.

. (Video will be posted soon as my camera battery need to be charged for a while).

I have not got chance to test SMS and Phone forwarding function as I am using Sprint. Will try to find any activated SIM and test these functions later.

Since I dont have SIM, I don't know if Skype is already equipped. My Veer is now running on "SIM-free" mode by bypassing the official activation process.

However, I am guessing that once you have working SIM, Skype should be there.

Another quick question... What is written on the box of your Veer? After the IMEI there should be the software version. On mine there is SW: 2.1.2.
Do you have the same thing or 2.2.3?

you do not need a sim for that, just need to be connected to a wifi, that is all.

Still 2.1.2 on box but the guy selling it to me said he unlocked and updated it to "the latest "world" firmware". And, it was 2.2.3 upon arrival.

My guess is that there must be a manual way to update all Veer to 2.2.3 firmware if OTA update is not available.

OMG ! Just vented my frustration in Pre3 section about lack of updates for Veer and now i see this ........... Can u ask the seller to share this firmware ...

how are you connected to a cdma network with a gsm phone?? Unless I missed something I didn't think the veer could operate on sprint

It is illegal to distribute copyrighted code.

can we please get back on topic. If you read and watch closer he has not used his veer because he is on sprint with another phone. That is why he can not give us more info about the veer cause it is not activated.
