I got 4 out of 5 unlock codes from ATT. They had to ask me for my SSN to verify that I am an ATT customer. They would not give the unlock codes unless I am an ATT customer. I happen to have a current account with a Samsung Galaxy S2. The 5th one they created a case and submit, and promised to reply within 10 days.
Now, I don't have a T Mobile Sim card to input the unlock codes. Any idea? I need to call a friend to see if his is T Mobile. |

Just called the number in the OP, got my unlock code in less than 5 minutes. I guess they changed the menus because now you need to press 1 ("other options") then 0 ("talk to a CS representative") to talk to someone.
No need for an SSN or anything - I'm not even an AT&T customer. Thank you! |

1. I live in Canada. 2. I purchased an AT&T locked HP Veer on a recent trip to the USA. 3. I followed the above instructions and the AT&T customer rep told me that although she did not have an unlock code for me offhand, she did open a support ticket and I should be sent the unlock code via email by January 9, 2012. So, I'm in holding pattern until I receive that code. I guess I will just have to be content playing with my 32GB Touchpad until my little Veer is fully functional on my existing carrier's SIM and data plan. I am really looking forward to using the mite-sized cell phone. It has a solid construction and with WebOS, I'm sure it will be a pleasure to use, I can't wait! I will update you all when I receive the unlock code. Amiably, Sam <edited by staff> P.S. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!!!! Last edited by HelloNNNewman; 01/01/2012 at 12:54 AM. |

All, Today I received the unlock code from AT&T! It worked like a charm. I am loving my diminutive HP Veer via my wireless provider (Rogers.com) in Toronto, Canada. Thanks to the original poster of this information hkgolden1988! All is Well. Sam |

Thanks for this posting. I purchased a Veer through Amazon. I received it in Vellore, India. After seeing your post, I followed your steps and received the Unlock Code from AT&T.
I tried the procedures as informed by AT&T to get the phone unlocked. AT&T's instructions show that soon after the phone is switched on after other service provider's sim is inserted, SimLock application will appear. I do not get this application. I am stuck here in this step. Instead, it shows the palm profile - to sign into my profile or create new profile. even after waiting for longer time, it shows only that. Nothing else. There is a phone symbol at the bottom. If I click it, 3 options appear : Emergency call, Call Customer Service and Cancel. If I click the emergency call phone dial pad appears with number 911. Deleting it and inserting with phone number and calling phone goes to the screen asking for the "Enter Unblock Code screen" with number pad to input. then if I insert the Unlock code given by AT&T, it shows as "Pin incorrect. try again". That is all I get. I have not tried more than 3 times with the code provided by AT&T. As AT&T stated that trying with incorrect code continuously for more than 5 times in a row, it will get locked permonently to AT&T, I shut down the phone. Is there any other procedure to be adopted to get the SimLock application? Or is there any other method to unlock the Veer 4G? If there is any other Thread in this forum, kindly highlight it to me. Thank you very much in advance. |

The problem is that the carrier/operators are stored in the CarrierDB. There are many carriers/operators that are not included in the database.
Follow the instructions in the following topic to get it activated: How to activate HP Veer when using other carriers |

Hi I just wondered that the AT&T customer support team has been providing unlocking codes for every phone. According to me, its not possible, because any service provider can not hold all IMEI numbers of phones existing in a nation. There is an another way to get the unlocking key in a safe way that there are sites such as providing unlocking codes for wide range of phone models. And if we need any instructions on the procedure of unlocking phone we may get that from Last edited by subasri; 08/10/2012 at 05:34 AM. |

Keygen is step 5. Step 6 is USB Passthrough. I assume you enabled that correctly??? Step 7 is the diagnostic drivers. Did those get installed on your computer? I.E.: did Windows ask for the drivers? If not did you install them manually??? You've got to have those drivers for step 8, querying the phone for the unlock...
