Not able to store the APN permanently , it is required to be Manually entered every time.
Ok that's good news but how could you use that since the APN settings are not saved once we exit phone preferences app, I couldn't get data(2g) from TATA DOCOMO or IDEA to work on my veer as well as on my friend's veer

^ would you please give us detailed instructions on how to get this working on 2g? How do we setup manual settings? appreciate for your help.

Go to your phone app, go to Preferences & Accounts, scroll down to Network. Put "Manual Settings" to "On". Under "Edit Network Settings" enter your Internet APN, Username and Password. For me it had "internet-apn", "tmo", "tmo" as default value but for my provider (T-Mobile in NL) this should be "internet", "tmobile", "tmobile".

I confirmed it to be working for 2 phones I have! 1 I unlocked successfully, the 2nd I used to confirm the code that I got from AT&T and it matched!

    Great work!

    Great news Dogbert. Thanks.

Do you have a PayPal donation link people could use to show their appreciation?

I guess you could use those.
I had to edit the x64 versions, before they showed correctly in device manager, but I'm not sure if any of that matters.

I did mine in VirtualPC running WinXP 32 bits, because I couldn't find proper x64 drivers quickly for my Win 7

    GuyFromNam said...

I edited the HtcVComV64.inf to include Veer.

    Added under [Strings]:
    OEMDevice05 = "HP Veer"
    Added under [Models.NTamd64]:
    %OEMDevice05% = OEMPort00, USB\VID_0830&PID_8033&MI_01

It should work if you do that. I checked this with Max (first unlocker of the Palm Pre) and he confirmed. (I'm no expert)

    Wow, nice work! Thanks!
DigitalUnlock works like a charm and was super easy, but this is great for those of us willing to put in a little more effort... I'm going to try it out, hopefully tonight!
    Thanks again, Dogbert!

Any chance this methodology can be adapted to unlock other devices (e.g., TouchPad 4G)?

Thanks in advance for any relevant thoughts.

Theoretically: yes, it also uses a QualComm chipset
