how to back up preware, patches, preware applications on veer?

hey my veer "s" button mysteriously stopped working so hp is fixing it. but just in case they do a full restart or they cant fix it and have to send me a new one i would like to know how to back up my preware. i know that the veer automatically backs up certain things but does itback up preware? Patches? can someone help!?
