I know because of the smaller screen not all Apps etc are available on the Veer but was hoping fellow enthusiasts could speak up on what cool apps and preware apps/patches people are using on webOS nowadays??

I'll start with ones I'm using so far...

    Hp App Catalog:

    -Pandora(love it!!!!)

    -SecuStore light(free pswd manager)

    -Power Flashlight

    -Slacker Radio

    -Backgrounds(cool hi-res wallpapers)

    -Fandango(movie showtimes)

    -Flixster(movie showtimes)

    -Facebook

    -Angry Birds

    Preware Apps:

    -Google Latitude

    -Wolfenstein Pre-D

    -FreeTether(Must have!!)

    -Advanced Chess

Forums (Tapatalk) is getting there as one of my faves, but I have to use it some more to get used to it. It's much better than hopping all over the place between different full versions of message boards in the browser.

Just installed Preware on my Veer but I'm a little skittish about patching too much ... I used to patch the hell out of my Pre-, but the patch selection in 2.x is somewhat lacking in comparison.

Will have to check that TAPATALK one out. Yah I'm not real big into patching but I will dig into it once I get tired of stock.

Patching is your friend I also have my Pre all patched up. There's a few patches that I am glad to see work on my Veer.

Here's some of my faves from Preware:
Advanced New Card per Convo (in messaging)
    Freetether
    Battery percent and icon
    Brightness in device menu
Close slider to end regular calls only
    Default to month view
    Disable light bar
    Email read all/ delete all
    Faster card animations hyper version
    Flashlight in device menu
    Multi mod
    New card button (for browser)
    No auto-answer upon touchstone removal
    No autodial from call log
    Really silent ringer switch mute
    Send memo to text message
    Timestamps clean (messaging)
    Unthrottle download manager
    Advanced options in launcher

I really hope the 4x4 icon patches get updated to work with the Veer.

Here's some of my faves from the App Catalog:
    My feeds free
    Feeds free
Weathericon (puts current temperature of location in the dock)
eweather and news (in exhibition mode)
    Evernote
    Pandora
    Datediffcalc

I'm looking forward to seeing what everybody else is listing.

No launcher icon layout/size patches will ever work on webOS 2.x, cause the code which does that is in a proprietary closed C/C++ binary and cannot be patched.

Rod, have you talked to anyone at HPalm about why they would do this? What is their reason for taking away one of the things most of us liked about webOS?
If "If's" and "But's" were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas!

The rewrite in C/C++ is one of the reasons why the launcher scrolling is much smoother on webOS 2.x ... it would have needed to be rewritten anyway for the TouchPad.

Shame it's still not smooth as it should be, even with pumped CPU.

My fav apps are Speakerphone and Govnah

I like iWedPlanner. It is a nice wedding app for organizing the wedding planning in an efficient way and within the budget. It has many features like seating arrangement, RSVP, resources, to-do list and more.

@dukel, is the SNES emu working good enough? How are the controls?

Some of my favorites are TuneIn Radio, Music Player Remix, IAmA Reddit, Critical Mass, Mapping Tool, Geocaching for webOS, JogStats, P|C Unofficial app, Torrent Remote and the Synergy Messaging Plugins for 2.x

    my favorites are
    From Appcat:
    amigo, pandora, trapster, and, smartrunner
    From Preware:
    Govnah(running warthog kernel), xboxlive friends

I have mode switcher but haven't taken the time to learn it yet.

honestly the only apps I would like that we don't have are a MusicID app.

also is anyone using a networking app with their computer. I would love to hear good and bad reviews.
