    I was just putting away my Veer's box and found a slip of paper inside, HP branded, which reads:

    Get a free app.

    Visit http://palm.com/appspromo to receive your free app.

    One free app per user.
    App selection can change without notice.
    Offer valid until November 1, 2011.
    I just did it! The selection is very light, with only about 10-15 apps available for free, but there are some good ones in there like Angry Birds, Lithium Messenger, Dropboxify, etc.

    Go get yours, fellow Veer owners! Just make sure you select "use promo code" when you follow the link from the email you receive ... it auto-populates.

    Haha - you and me both! I was going to go for Lithium Messenger, but the dev just released 25 more promo codes as of midnight, so I decided I'd like the birds on my favorite platform!

    Great find! I never read the papers.

    Hahaa ... Me either! This was one I was glad to find, though ... looks like part of HP's "introduction to smartphones" strategy.

    Thanks for posting this. I got LauncherPoint, it's one of the most used apps I currently use on my Sprint Pre. Free is always good! Thanks again.

    Just tried this out of interest and it seems like only geo-restriction prevents me from using this on my German Pre-. Seems like it works on other devices as well.

    I chose Lithium Messenger... I've got Angry Birds on every other phone and frankly, I was ****ed that I paid for it before it became free on most platforms.

    I did, yeah. I went for Flickr Mundo since I enjoy taking photos.

    Did anyone else find the process entirely too complex for a simple promo code? First you type in all your info online and it sends you an e-mail. Then you use your phone to click on a link in that e-mail. The link sends you to the app page within the app store, where you have to authorize payment via your phone account or a credit card, then you have to click "Purchase." It warns you that your account will be charged.

    Don't get me wrong, it was nice to get the free app, but I think HP needs to work on their system a little bit. It's probably really confusing for someone who isn't tech savvy.

    Meh. People will go to great lengths to get some free stuff. I don't see it as a problem.

    No Angrybirds or Launch Point on my list - Only offers the following:

    * Lithium Messenger
    * Baseball Live!
    * Talking Caller Id
    * Dropboxify
    * BikePro
    * Price Cloud
    * Flickr Mundo
    * Checkbook
    * AuctionMate Pro
    * Casino Blackjack

    None of them seem particularly *must* haves, so I don't know which one to pick. Talking Caller Id seems interesting, but I don't know if it'd get annoying or not.

    launchpoint was removed due to incompatibility I'm not entirely sure about Angry Birds though.

    I got Dropboxify, though if you only store Office documents, the QuickOffice that is pre-loaded in webOS 2.x can open documents directly from your Dropbox account.

    Hi all. I just got a Veer today and I was looking through the papers in the box. I noticed there is a paper for a free app download. I looked and didn't' see anyone else talking about it. Just a heads up to look in your box for a free app!
