Since Kurt has taken up the communication, I think it's best if I don't 'muddle' the conversation by adding additional email-threads with Lou.

That being said, I agree with you that adding some technical details of our own investigation might be helpful to them in solving the problem (especially if it's more than simply reactivating the key). So if Kurt feels it's useful for me to help him write a response (with some technical details) then I'm more than happy to do so. Of course that is better done through PM.

What happens if the working key is used in place of the non-functioning one? With a patch, I mean. Anyone tried?

Also, an email to USAtoday could include a link to this thread, so they can read it all & perhaps even post...

Just let me know what to send Lou and I will get it to him. I am more of a user than programing, but will help where I can.

    Kurt.

I'm having that key re-enabled. Let's see if that fixed the problem.

ps. It's great to see their response, I think helpful developers (for any system, not just webOS) should always be celebrated :-)

I would tell him that - in short - the articles aren't displayed/loaded (more details can be found in this thread) while other parts of the app (like images) are still working fine.

From a first analysis it would seem that the culprit is api_key: xnpbjw6v33sj2tqtf7fcxp5g, and calling 'http://api.usatoday.com/articles/light/topnews/hometablet?encoding=json&count=15&api_key=xnpbjw6v33sj2tqtf7fcxp5g' will specifically return "errror: key not authorised".

Lou, looks like your post came through after all. I'm glad the link to this thread I sent you yesterday worked.

    Thanks for your help!

This URL is now responding with data. I do not know if this is the only problem the app is facing, but it is the only one that I have any control over.

Does anyone have a link to the now working USA today ipk? This was one of a few apps I did not back up to my PC and I can't find it anywhere online.

    Thanks.

Incredibly helpful, Alan, thank you. This link should have a sticky of its own.

Thanks. That seems to have anything and everything but usa today. Is it some short abbreviated ipk that can't be searched?
