Nearing the end in January 2015 for support and remembered I have a new 32 gb TP. First issue resolved in taking me a day to power it up which was accomplished by connecting it to a phone charger. As soon as it gave a screen message that it did not like the charger I was back in the game. Now fully and properly charged. If nothing else HP put good batteries in this thing even if it has its issues.

Next, installed preware and a few tweaks ie overclocking, removed logging. Catalog issue resolved by turning back clock as suggested.

Now what other items to download. Cannot find touchplayer for instance. If nothing else, this is a very nice bedside clock radio on the touchstone at the end of the day.

    suggested uprgrade welcome

    thanks.

Enable the beta feeds if you haven't already and be sure to get uberkernel with govnah and go for webOS Ports LunaCE 4.9.10.

thanks for the reply. I have ubkernel and govnah but not certain how to obtain the others. I am a newb.

I feel like a bit of a newb myself these days, the last time I wandered around the forum was about a year ago when I was checking to see what progress had been made with ACL.

Now my Dad's TouchPad is acting up so I started poking around and found out about the shutdown. Eep! I have 3 TouchPads (including my Dad's) and a couple of Palm Pixi Pluses I should backup and update and it really is daunting knowing where to begin.

So I second the request for tips on the best/latest guides for installing and tweaking. Apps to grab while we can. Also interested in backing things up.

I'm thinking I want to be able to dual boot TouchPads to webOS and to Android. Giving up on ACL unless people tell me it's awesome these days.

Yes, that's fine. Note that the survival kit points to the early steps pivotCE wrote about as well.

Okay, I think I figured it out.
If you go into preware on your touchpad, and search for these, you'll see they are already installed.
They must be packaged in with one of the updates we already did.

Some packages depend on these, so they get installed as a dependency.

Now you can go into the settings of preware and tell it to show installed apps as well.
