    The tab wasn't used for around 7-8 days and now when i m charging it the home button dances from left to right and after some time the red battery charging screen comes up.now the real issues is after 3-4 min the screen goes off and again the home button start dancing.i have tried using different USB,chargers.charged it for more than 12 hrs still no use.can any1 suggest me what can i do next?

    Usually aternating home button lights mean 'charging without battery management' and battery with red line means 'charging with battery management system'.

    So maybe either the battery itself is finally totally 'dead' - or the A6 battery management chip has lost it's 'memory' and needs re-flashing?

    Some people have had success with re-charging very slowly (at -->500mA) for several days ~ or longer!
    I would try that possibility first anyway.

    By using a low output charger.

    Yes - the maximum output is usually written on the charger.
    If you have an HP/Palm Phone charger, you could try that too.

    Finally after giving up on my tab i took it to a repair shop.the defective unit somehow turned out to be the USB. its working all good now.anyways thank you guys for the co-operation.

    ans ya i tried with the charger of my palm pre2 but it was showing to connect the data cable that came with the device..it ws not worthy
