I Have searched a while and found hp-touchpad-ubuntu project in code.google.com

I found that they say that i should NOT use CYGWIN to install ubuntu in touchpad.

I have 16gb ram but my ide hdd is going to fail.

so can i use ubuntu VM to install ubuntu in touchpad???????

Yes, as long as the VM can see your device. You'll need to get the Novacom drivers.
