Well that was certainly helpful. Now that you have expressed how intelligent you are could you spare the more mundane information pertinent to my inquiry which you obviously could not read between the lines on.

It may not be in the catalog, but I know you can get it from the preware feeds (and it's called pReader).

Maybe it is you who cannot read between the lines ... but I am glad you got another response that you are happy with...

pReader is available in the catalog (v8.21) but a 'cutting edge' version is in preware - native alpha is v9.20.

It is somewhat baffling... a Member who has been on the forum a year and made 50+ posts asking such a basic question; Is there an ePub reader for TouchPad?

It isn't as if you haven't ever been here before.

ePub is not some arcane format no one ever uses. It's like asking after a photo viewer, rather than a CAD program.

There is no specific problem associated with the request such as: I need an ePub reader that will also handle .tr2 and .tr3 files as well.

It's a basic need with readily available solutions.

Inputting "epub touchpad" into the site's search bar yields 10 pages of results.

I try to be as helpful to other members as I can. Honestly.

I passed on answering the OP yesterday for the reasons outlined above.

I hope you found an ePub reader you like and are enjoying it.

Similarly, my interest in helping somebody is directly related to their interest in helping themselves. By that measure artxxork's response was more than enough.

Here's a good question - is there a GOOD epub reader available? Admittedly, I haven't tried the preware version of of pReader, but the version in the app catalog is beyond lacking. I think that I've only gotten 1 or 2 books to successfully load in it (the other are either too big, or they just sit there with the spinning load circle) and of those, neither displayed well.

I do believe the Preware version of pReader functions better, if I remember correctly. That is the one I run on my phones at any rate. I've side-loaded any number of ePubs and read them through that version without problem...

    Holy crap, that works better!

Thanks for the heads up. I'd given up on Preware because (before tonight when I checked) there hadn't been an update to anything in many months. Then again, most everything I've installed through there is from Jason, and well, he seems to have been sucked in by the WebOS void, never to be heard from again.

72ka is constantly tweaking his Google Maps App... A few of the Apps I have do update on occasion.

Jason went to intern at HP - I'm quite sure we've not heard the last of him.

Glad you like the Preware pReader.

Yeah, that's what I meant about the WebOS void. I mean, it's killer for him, but with the lack of any tangible product from the top recently - in a purely selfish sense - he's effectively gone for us.

Any updates on a good epub reader?
One comparable to those available for other platforms, or are the ones for webOS lacking in comparison?
    Just call me Berd.

Try the one (pReader) on webOS, and if that doesn't work just stick with the variety of them on Android.

Was a stupid question and the guy did have 50 odd posts but the first answer could have been a bit more helpful :-)

Whoops ...old post , looks like I might get a barrage of abuse :-)
