I have noticed that my TouchPad is having a sound glitch where at odd times it will all of a sudden get scratchy sound and nothing in particular seems to have anything to do with it. Is this just a glitch that comes with the device?, is it HP's fault?, or is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks, Brendan |

Someone pointed out to me today, that if your sound driver goes completely dead, sometimes muting and then unmuting the device from the Sound settings app will restore sound. I wonder if that would also manage a reset of the device in this case, but of course, I havent had the audio problem since then.
It's been a problem present in webOS 3.0.4+ and CM7 and CM9. My thoughts are it's a bugged audio driver that they share.

Yep. Every other week or so, it seems. Reboot's the only fix. I think it started with webOS 3.0.4, surprised it wasn't fixed with 3.0.5.

On my TP it seems to happen if I pause with a headset button while listening to music player (remix). If I pause it again for a longer time, it goes back 2 normal. Haven't tried on the stock music player.
Edit: I should mention this is wired headphones, not a wireless/BT headset. Last edited by deerewright; 02/02/2012 at 09:39 PM. Reason: clarification |

I had issues with 3.04 but I think it may have been patches
or apps that may have affected plugging in ear phones. Since the 3.5 update, I've stayed away from patches or updates and I've been able to maintain good everything as far as sound since. |

FYI, I have had the same issue. Now I do most of my audio via Bluetooth (via the Anycom FIPO Bluetooth Audio Adapter) to my Big Stereo in the office or at home and the works like a charm. Conclusion: We do have issues with the Audio Driver.

I Think mines does it a few times a week. But since I've been using the touchstone it seems to occur less...However now another issue is that mine loses sound completely
and the only way to get sound back is to fire up "pulse audio restarter" app. I'm sure this issue started when I switched to touchstone for charging. Not 100% sure tho |
