He was referring to the WebOS Doctor. It is not something that you can download to your touchpad, you need to download it to a computer and connect your touchpad to your computer to run it.

You can find all the WebOS Doctor versions here:

WebOS Doctor Versions - WebOS Internals

The WebOS Doctor should fix your problem.

Mike, i had the same problem with one of my 2 touchpads (wifes). Doesn't seem to be any explanation, but the doctor process isn't too difficult. Just takes time afterwords to reload all of your stuff so be patient with your touchpad afterwords.

I ended up removing all my patches and themes and kernals... basically cleaned everything up and then the update worked.

Ok.. it must have been one of the patches then... Webos Doctor worked and new version is installed. thanks for the help.

I got the same problem initially. I finally got the update after I deleted some of the apps ( 2GB of games ).

    Good luck.

For my two Touchpads (mine and my daughter's); only had the similar issue with mine. In order for the 3.05 update to work correctly, I merely had to revert to the 3.04 recovery kernel vs. using the Alpha F-15C kernel. Download, unpack and install then worked fine. Was then able to go in and reapply the alpha kernel for 3.05!

I had the same problem until I took off all my patches, uninstalled the theme and uninstalled uberkernel. don't know which one was the culprit, but it installed fine after that. now I just have to wait for the patches to be updated again.

I had remove Uberkernel and all of my patches before the update would install. I guess that plays nicely into the AUST plan, but I miss my patches!

I just unpacked my new TouchPad.
I set up my webOS account and then went directly to "System Updates".
    Everything seem to download fine.
It finally ended up on this screen for easily longer than 15 mins (see pic) .
So I gave up waiting and held down on the power button until it gave me the menu option to Shut Down. I then held the power button again, and it is now on a dark screen with a rotating circle in the middle, and at the bottom it says Installing Update.
I'll post back if it succeeds or not.

    Okay, that worked.
Odd that it just sat there on that screen.
