so I love everything about the touchpad except the downloading experience. My college has its own email servers in a weird way so that the email app can't set it up. But I can get access to it through the browser and that's fine. But when I try to download any attachment it becomes like essay20%20=~;+} and when opened it's a bunch of non sense code.

another problem I just had is downloading from mediafire, I click the download and it doesn't download but instead show me a load of codes in webpage.

so is it just my touchpad or network messing up or it's a problem with webos? If its with webos is there anyway to fix that?

I'm not aware of any college mail servers if set up correct won't work. Just need to have a little info and the correct settings. Webos email and contact synergy is the best part of the experience.

for your question, use save as option, then open for issue files. This normally works.

All you need to do beyond normal is use manual setup for the (typical) exchange server, domain, user and pass

example: hit new account > manual >
    Protocol: EAS
    email address: noodle7527@xxxx.edu
    server: https://exchange.xxxx.edu
    domain: xxxx
    user: noodle7527
    pass: highered1234

** eas protocol type typically in initial account setup after you click manual setup

Browser problem with secure download maybe the reason.

There is thread discuss about this topic. Try to search it.

The browser is buggy. 1) It doesn't handle downloads on sites needing some kind of authentication and 2) it sometimes saves the file with the wrong filename/extension, which makes it impossible to open.

I've had trouble opening emails on my sbcglobal account since day one, especially when there's pictures attached. Any ideas to improve this issue?

try linking the sbcglobal to your hotmail or live account and then setup the live acccount as an exchange account to access it on the TP.

reference on hotmail as exchange from http://www.precentral.net/how-set-ho...-webos-synergy

    setup manual account option
•Tap "POP" and switch the account type to "Exchange (EAS)"
•Set the Incoming Mail Server to "https://m.hotmail.com" (no quotes)
    •Leave Domain blank
•Set your username to your full @hotmail email address (i.e. include @hotmail.com or @live.com)
•Enter your password, correctly this time.

my school's email worked on the email app, so I can get attachments through that way.

Well-I set up a hotmail account and linked my sbcglobal account. The hotmail account is now loading emails off the server from 2007 forward and very slowly at that?

I've had no issues w/ any attachments etc on email w/ the exchange type setup via hotmail or a business or edu server. So with the TP setup to use hotmail as exchange w/ any luck you won't have any more issues. xross fingers. Why do you keep emails from 2007, at any rate if you want to speed things and reduce size wasted on the TP you can limit the TP's days just a little more than that.

Since nothing has even loaded through my hotmail account onto my touchpad, I would guess the default is just for a few days. The sbcglobal server has all these emails saved-Do most people go directly into their email client's servers and delete emails? I'm a bit confused.
