Music stops playing when screen turns off in touchpad

when I am playing music using kalemsoft player it stops when touchpad screen turns off. I want to be able to play music even when the screen turns off so that I can save some battery. This issue doesn't occur while I am listening to radio using tune in radio though. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

ideally, this is what I think we should be able to do:

keep on playing music when the screen turns off. However, we also should be able to set up sleep mode to stop everything running after certain time cause when I go to bed I would want to be able to set up sleep mode.

its the app thats the issue i believe in this instance the music app does not do this. you will need to contact the dev of that app to find out for sure.
