I can get hold of the source code to a mindmap application written in Java (Xmind or Freemind).

But now what? How do I get it compiled so it runs on a TouchPad? What arcane magic is required?

    cheers

It's not possible. It's not just a case of compiling it for the TouchPad; Java applications require the Java Virtual Machine to run. WebOS doesn't have a JVM, and as far as I know probably never will.

Maybe try Mindmeister or Mindomo (both web based).

If you really want to run java apps, it should be possible to install the debian or ubuntu chroot package and then install the debian (or ubuntu) openjdk-6-jre package within the chroot environment. Then you should be able to run java applications.

I think the Ubuntu JVM for ARM is broken, at least the browser plugin is, but Debian works!

Ahh, I didn't realise how it all worked. I wanted to run it under webos so Ubuntu wasn't really an option for me.

Oh well, never mind. Thanks for the information anyway.
