Default Send email text only vs sending html

Sorry if this is a stupid question .. I have searched, and have seen threads along these lines in the past but they all seem to be opposite to what I want.

For the first time I have configured my personal mail server to be able to send/receive email from my WebOS devices (currently testing on my TP). Until now I have only used Exchange and gmail on my webos devices.

My issue is that when I send an email via SMTP (with TLS) via my personal email server (inbound protocol is IMAP/SSL) the Touchpad only sends a html version:

Code:
Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
However when I use my other TP, which is using Exchange to send the exact same email (this time via whatever protocol exchange uses) I get both html and text:

Code:
--MIMEStream=_0+270758_9507418967739_78874903066
Content-Language: en-US
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
	boundary="_000_EAA888A27E00BD46882D3A85AD02007C1E22219DIAD2MBX11mex02m_"
MIME-Version: 1.0

--_000_EAA888A27E00BD46882D3A85AD02007C1E22219DIAD2MBX11mex02m_
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Which is preferable, I don't like html email myself(my mail server strips most html email of it's tags automatically), but it would be nice if the email sent via SMTP had both types, so it was readable in non-html capable clients.

It's probably a futile request but I thought it was interesting that the TP sends messages differently through exchange vs normal SMTP.

Hi,

same here ... my Veer used to send proper multi-part mails, but my Pre3 seems to send HTML-only mails - this is really annoying.

I even wish I was able to switch the Pre to plain text only ... but that's another story ...
