Is there any reason why I should or shouldn't defrag the touchpad?
I've done it tonight anyway just wondering if anyone else does it...

and after I delete a file is there anyway to retrive it?

Question:What did you use to defrag and how?

I would think it is no more necessary to defrag a TouchPad, than it is to defrag a 32GB SD memory card. I could be wrong though.
Due to the cancellation of the penny, I no longer give 2 about anything. I may however, give a nickel

Defragging should only be used on hard disk drives, i'd think defragging nand memory modules such as the ones used on the touchpad would decrease there life span.

Don't defrag it. It's a flash drive (similar to a usb flash drive or SSD). Fragmentation doesn't really affect performance on flash drives (so defragging doesn't help), and defragging too many times will wear out the flash which decreases the capacity of the drive.

For file recovery, try standard recovery tools like Recuva (freeware).
