    I'm trying to donwload Webos Apps on my HP Touchpad (hebrew font)
    I have done everything successfully on my PC ;
    Java
    WebOS QI,
    Novacom
    ...
    I have turned my HP Touchpad into developer mode, reinit
    But when I'm connecting the HP Touchpad to my PC, I only have 2 choices
    USB
    Close

    No "Just charge"
    This is the main difference agaoinst the "Getting started" recommandation

    Then when I run Webos QI , it does not detect the HP Touchpad : looks like it is not conected
    But on the Windows explorer, I can see the Touchpas connected

    What's wrong ?

    I think it's o.k. to not to choose anything at all at this point and continue with the instructions. Probably no harm done if you choose close either... I don't think the Touchpad ever had a "Just charge" option.

    Yes, but then the HP Touchpad is not connected to the PC unless I choose USB
    If I choos trhe close option (or don't fon anything)
    - I cannot see/access to the Touchpad through Explorer
    - Webos QI cannot see the HP Touchpad either
    Looks like something is missing to allow Webos to download any Apps into the Hp Touchpad

    sounds like you need to reinstall novacom drivers. you can also try restarting your computer and your touchpad. you don't need to press anything on the touchpad when connecting via WOSQI.

    You should not choose USB.

    You do not want to see/access to the Touchpad through Explorer.
    The apps are not installed with Explorer.

    In the WOQI window in the device tab, can you see your device?
    See attachment - in mine it says - Device: HP Touchpad

    What about command line under the tools menu?
    Tools -> Linux Commandline

    Does this start a command line session with the Touchpad?

    Edit: now I've seen the post from Andy...
    if Linux command line isn't working, then I'd agree. File -> Reinstall Novacom.
    But restart pc and touchpad might do the trick.

    Is your device in devmode? Have you set a devmode password?

    If devmode password is set, open you Windows task list and stop the novacomd.exe from the Process tab. For me it automatically reload and prompted me for a password.

    I have done everything ; restart my PC, reinstalled novacom, reconnect the HP touchpad without selecting the USB option
    I h'm i develper mode
    Now the WOQI Window don't have a device like in the picture

    I have also stopped the Novacom process, but it did not restart automatically like for Dale

    I cannot run the Linux command ; it is requesting to connect the device first

    On my HP Touchpad I have a message ;
    "Your device is in developer mode. You may use Palm Mojo SDK tools to connect to the device."

    I finally found the solution

    1) Run Webos 4 release (I was running release 3)

    2) switch in english (french language is not working properly since it does not ask for the passd)

    3) HP Touchpad can be connected in USB mode

    Thanks for the time you have dedicated for helping me solving that issue

    I guess you mean webOS Quick Installer 4.x as most of us are still on webOS 3.0.2.
