how do I backup my data & paid apps on Touchpad
in case HP shuts off webOS for good in a year or two?

I realize that I can continue to access the date and
    apps even after it's gone...

On the other hand, all the paid apps need to be re-
downloaded from the HP server after a full erase
and/or webOS Doctor restore. How can this be
accomplished after HP shuts webOS off?

i love my 32gb touchpad. i have tried anything i could find on precentral and have had great success. spent a few hours trying to backup to pc then to external hard drive. you have to drag and drop folders individually to external hd. i guess it will work with pc hd too.

What kind of "won't boot" are you referring to? Bootloader error icon? Stuck on boot screen (non-pulsing HP logo)? Luna looping (pulsating HP logo that doesn't go away, and you may hear the app drawer sound every 10-20 seconds)? Probably nothing that can't be fixed by restoring some original files.
