    when connected via USB cable connected to the original AC charger,
    does the Touchpad draw power from USB or internal battery?
    (the battery is already fully charged to 100%)

    Battery, I think that tp does not charge or operates over USB.

    Haha, in that case, I'm sure it uses AC and not the battery

    Plugged into a USB port it will charge the battery but much slower than the AC charger. You won't see the lighting bolt but it is charging.

    Indeed.

    Even the MacBook Pros, which usually deliver more juice over the usb ports (at least 1.1 amps, if I remember correctly) cannot sway the TouchPad to show the lighting bolt. However, it's charging, but performance consuming applications will still drain the battery.
