I was using my Touchpad outdoors today. It started off 100% charged.
It was a sunny day and I had to set the screen brightness to maximum.

All I did was browsing the internet, reading PDF files, and send/receive
    emails.

The battery warning showed up in about 2 and half hours. Just before
reaching 3 hours, the Touchpad switched itself off. I went back inside
my hotel room to recharge it.

Is this normal? I do realize that using maximum screen brightness
was draining the battery very quickly, but only 3 hours? Really?

Screen at full brightness will eat a battery. I've never needed more that 1/3rd brightness in full sunlight. Do you know of another tablet or laptop that will not eat it's battery with the screen set for full brightness? Do you know of a tablet that will last longer in similar configuration?

The battery is a limited resource, learn to manage it.

yep, the TP put on full brightness will not last very long.

I did a battery test with 100% brightness, WiFi on, and video on repeat. Got 4 hours

    i got 4h48, 100% bright, wifi and 720p mp4 h264 video on repeat.

now i start a test with bright to minimum.

not sure why you're shocked? Screen brightness is probably one of the biggest battery killing culprits on this device

Wow. 4~5 hrs life is pretty gnarly.

With some light browsing, constant mp3(not using external speakers), minimum brightness, I can get about 10-11 hours. I've been consistent with that for over a month now.

Some pads seems to have batteries that are not as powerful, so a difference in tests is to be expected. Use DrBattery to find out what's in yours.

Is it possible that a low Wi-Fi signal could have drained the battery? I'm not sure how Wi-Fi handles such things, but I know a Cell phone in an area with low coverage will drain significantly faster than an area with full bars due to boosting the internal radio power.

I was going to suggest the WiFi opinion - if it's low enough to cause dropouts, that will also drain battery as it keeps searching for the signal.

But my best guess is the maximum brightness.

I tested 2 touchpads that have different mah capacity and they both lasted for the same amount of time
