    hi all,
    so i was curious to find out our TP's computing capacity (stock 1.2ghz) using the linpack c benchmarrk. i diddnt go for the orig fortran version because, well, gcc is already installed.

    to do this, i downloaded the source: Benchmark Programs and Reports
    then in my ubuntu chroot, i compiled with gcc using the 3rd optimization level (-O3).
    and ran the benchmark for the default array size of 200
    these are the results:

    is that for real? somehow i dont believe that a single core gets 130mflops.

    I recall the TouchPad being dual core....

    it is, but the code is serial, so the score is technically a single core score

    Using the Ubuntu/gcc the numbers seem like they're in the ballpark compared to this chart.... (scroll down to Ubuntu section)

    My idea for relative levels is from this site:
    HTC EVO 3D Smartphone Review - HotHardware

    It shows that the EVO 3D, with the same cpu as the TP, only scores 41MFLOPs in single-core tests (using the linpack for android app)
